I just read a long article trying to claim that אהיה and יהוה mean the same thing; God's existence but expressed by different personal pronouns. The author had studied Hebrew and knew very much of the language, but when he moved from the verb היה to הוה claiming that the Tetragrammaton (יהוה) means "he is", he made me laugh. Or should I cry! I must show you again this table of the Hebrew verb היה (hjh = to be).
Ylimpänä taulikossa on היה hjh-verbin taivutus yksikön 3. pers. maskuliinissa (hän on). Sitten tulee yksikön 3. pers. feminiissä (hän on). Sen jälkeen seuraavaat yksikön 2. pers. ensin maskuliinissa (sinä olet) ja sitten feminiinissä (sinä olet). Seuraavaksi tulee yksikön 1. pers., joka on sama sekä maskuliinissa että feminiinissä ("minä olen"). Loput ovat monikkomuotoja.
At the top of the list you can see the conjugation of היה in the 3rd pers mask. (he is). Then comes the 3rd pers. fem. (she is). After that the 2nd pers. mask. (you are) and the 2nd pers. fem. (she is). And next the 1st pers. common in mask. and fem. (I am). The rest are in plural.

On totta, että tuo ylin muoto muistuttaa tetragrammia! Onhan se MELKEIN sama, mutta EI kuitenkaan! י = J ja ו = V, eikä niitä voi sekoittaa! Tarkemmin katsoessa ו (Vau) ei näytä olevan missään היה hjh-verbin taivutusmuodossa heprean Qal Imperfektissä... eikä ole muuten Qal Perfektissäkään.
It's true that the first one reminds the Tetragrammaton very much! It's ALMOST the same, but NOT!
י = J and ו =V, and they can't be mixed! If you look at more closely you'll notice that there is no ו (Waw) in any conjugation of the verb היה in Qal Imperfect... and I can say, neither in Qal Perfect!
