Seinälle kirjoitettu * Written on a wall

Kuningas Belsassarin riehakkaat pidot keskeytyivät Babylonin kaupungissa noin viisisataa vuotta ennen ajanlaskumme alkua (539) varsin erikoisella tavalla. Juhlasalin seinälle ilmestyi käsi joka kirjoitti tekstin:

מנא מנא תקל ופרסין

The boisterous festivals of the king Belshazzar were interrupted in the city of Babylon about five hundred years before Christ (539) in a special way. A hand appeared on the wall of the assembly hall and wrote:

מנא מנא תקל ופרסין

Teksti oli arameaa, ja kaldealaiset juhlijat tarvitsivat tulkkia. Pelkkä arameantaito ei tässä tapauksessa kuitenkaan riittänyt, vaan Daniel, joka tekstin tulkitsi, sai Jumalalta erityistä viisautta.

It's Aramaic and the Chaldeans needed a translator. But knowledge of language was not enough in this case, for Daniel who was the interpreter got special wisdom from God.

מנא (mene) on painomitta nimeltään mina
תקל (tekel) on myös painomitta, joka tunnetaan paremmin nimellä sekel/sekeli, se on 1/60 minasta, ja painoarvoltaan 16, 37 grammaa
Sanassa ופרסין (ufarsin) ensimmäinen konsonantti liittyy konjunktioon "ja", ja sanan loppuosa פרסין on monikkomuoto sanasta פרס (peres... פ = p/f), joka on myös painomitta, ja vastaa puolta sekeliä (hepreassa beka)

מנא (mene) is a weight unit called mina
תקל (tekel) is also a weight unit and maybe you know it better as shekel, it's 1/60 of mina and exactly 16, 37 g
In the word ופרסין the first consonant belongs to a conjunction "and", and the rest of the word פרסין is a plural form of the word פרס (peres... פ = p/f), which is also a weight unit, half a shekel (beka in Hebrew)

Seinälle ilmestyneessä tekstissä oli siis kolme painomittaa suurimmasta pienempiin. Suomeksi voisimme kirjoittaa vastaavan tekstin vaikka näin: hehtogramma, hehtogramma, dekagramma, grammat.

Thus the text on the wall had three weight units from the biggest one to smaller ones. The corresponding example with our weights would be: hectogram, hectogram, decagram, grams.

Jumalan antaman viisauden avulla Daniel tulkitsi sanojen merkityksen Belsassarille näin:
"Jumala on laskenut sinun valtakuntasi luvun ja tehnyt siitä lopun. Sinut on vaa'alla punnittu ja köykäiseksi havaittu. Sinun valtakuntasi on pirstottu ja annettu meedialaisille ja persialaisille" (Dan. 5: 26 - 28/1933).

God gave to Daniel wise words for his translation to Belshazzar  "God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. Thou art weighted in the balances, and art found wanting. Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians" (Dan. 5: 26 - 28/KJV).

Tämän vakavan taivaallisen palautteen edessä Belsassaria ei auttanut enää edes Danielin palkitseminen ja korottaminen, sillä hänen elämänsä päättyi samana yönä.

Before this serious heavenly feedback Belshazzar had no benefit although he rewarded and lifted Daniel, for in the same night he was slain.

Myös tämän maailman Ruhtinas on pitänyt riehaikkaita pitojaan... jo useita tuhansia vuosia. Sama seinäkirjoitus koristanee hänenkin juhlasalinsa seinää. Kerran suojaavana kerubina (Hes. 28: 14) toiminut Lucifer/Valonkantaja on lankeemuksensa kautta menettänyt merkityksensä ja painoarvonsa Jumalan edessä. Hänestä on tulossa "tallattu raato" (Jes. 14: 19).

Even the Prince of this world has arranged his boisterous festivals... already for many thousands of years. Maybe there is the same writing on the wall of his assembly hall. Once as the anointed cherub (Eze 28: 14) Lucifer/the Bearer of Light has lost his value and weight before God through his fall. He is about to become "a carcase trodden under feet" (Isa. 14: 19).

Jumalan edessä mitataan ja punnitaan aivan jokainen luotu (1. Sam. 2: 3) ... niin enkelit kuin ihmisetkin. Ihmisen Pojan palatessa takaisin jokainen saa Jumalalta palkan omien tekojensa mukaan (Matt. 16: 27; Ilm. 22: 22). Miten syntinen ihmiskunta voi selvitä tästä mittauksesta/punnitsemisesta Jumalan edessä?

Every creature shall be measured and considered before God (1. Sam 2: 3)... both angels and people. When the Son of Man returns he shall reward everyone according to his works (Matthew 16: 27; Rev. 22: 22). How on earth the fallen mankind can cope with this measurement and judgment before God?

As Paul says there no righteous man and everyone has gone out of the way (Rom. 3: 10 - 12). The author of the psalm 130 sighs: who can stand if God remembers our sins (Ps. 130: 3). I wonder did the king Solomon write about his own experience when he said: "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" (Prov. 28: 13).

Jumalan armo on ihmiskunnan toivo. Arvomme/painomme on olematon Jumalan vaa'assa,  ellemme omista uskoa maailman Vapahtajaan (Joh. 3: 16).

God's grace is our hope. Our value/weight is nil on God's balance, if we don't have belief in the Redeemer of the world (Joh. 3: 16).

Kaksi ikkunaa * Two windows

אהיה

Heprean aakkosilla on äänne- ja numeroarvojensa lisäksi myös kuvallinen merkitys:

In addition to their numeral value the Hebrew consonants have also a visual message.

א merkitsee kirjaimellisesti härkää, ja viittaa symbolisesti voimaan/johtajaan/ensimmäiseen.
ה merkitsee kirjaimellisesti ikkunaa/aitaa/aitausta, ja sen symbolinen merkitys on paljastaa.
י merkitsee kirjaimellisesti kättä... suljettua kättä..., ja sen symbolinen merkitys liittyy tekoon/tekemiseen.

א means literally ox and it symbolically refers to power/leader/the first one.
ה means literally window/fence or an area surrounded by it, and symbolically it means to reveal.
י means hand... closed hand... and it's symbolic meaning deals with act/deed/doing.

Sanassa אהיה on kaksi tavua, joissa kummassakin on ikkuna (ה)... josta avautuu näkymä... tai vaihtoehtoisesti ה voi olla aita/aitaus... jonkinlainen este. Ensimmäisen tavun ikkunasta näkyy (tai ei näy) härkä, ja toisen tavun ikkunasta käsi.

There are two syllables in the word אהיה both of them bearing a window (ה)... with an open view... or alternatively ה can be a fence or an area inside it... some kind of barrier. Through the first window we can see (or not) an ox and thought the second a hand.

Härkä on uhrieläin. Jeshua, joka uhrattiin Golgatalla ihmiskunnan syntien ja rikkomusten tähden, on tuo kyseinen härkä. Käsi... minun käteni... edustaa minun tekojani, joiden vuoksi Jumalan Karitsa uhrattiin.

Ox is a sacrificial animal. Yeshuah who was sacrificed on Golgotha for our sins and transgressions... he is that ox. Hand... my hand... is a symbol of my deeds for which the Lamb of God was sacrificed.

Olemmeko nähneet oman kätemme uhraamassa Jumalan Karitsaa?
Olemmeko nähneet Jumalan Karitsan itsemme paikalla raahaamassa raskasta ristiä Golgatan kummulle koko saatanallisen demonijoukon kiihottaessa kansaa yhä suurempaan raivoon ja raakuuteen? Olemmeko kokeneet ja ymmärtäneet, minkä tuskan Jeshua koki juuri minun vuokseni?
Olemmeko kulkeneet Via Dolorosan Jeshuan kanssa?

Have we seen our own hand sacrificing the Lamb of God? Have we seen the Lamb of God carrying  the heavy cross to the hill of Golgotha on our behalf while the whole satanic group of demons were agitating people to greater rage and rawness? Have we experienced and understood how terrible was the suffering Yeshuah had just because of me? Have we been walking with him on the Via Dolorosa?

Jos voimme vastata myöntävästi, silloin tuon suuren nimen ה -kirjaimet ovat meille ikkunoita. Muussa tapauksessa ne ovat vain aita ja aitaus.

If we can answer positively then those ה -consonants are windows for us. In other case they are just a fence and a fenced yard for us.

I think Abraham must had a terrible suffering when he was walking to the land of Moriah and thinking about his task to sacrifice Isaac. We can only imagine (on the basis of our own experience) how much he had to fight inside because of the consequences of his own disbelief and deeds. To see one's own sins in the revealing light of God is the hardest and most terrible experience for a human being. But on the other hand  to get God's liberating grace is the most brilliant and sublime knowledge for a mortal man. After such a moment Yeshuah becomes man's dearest one, the greatest leader and the first friend.

Jumalan nimeen אהיה (ehjeh) sisältyy tämä... vain tämä tie. Se on ikuisen elämän tie, sillä "joka rikkomuksensa tunnustaa ja hylkää, hän saa armon." (Sanal. 28: 13)

God's name אהיה (ehyeh) contains this... and only this way. And that way leads to eternal life, for the one who "confess and forsake his sins shall have mercy." (Prod. 28: 13)

Messiasteksteistä * Messiah texts

Messiaanisina teksteinä pidetään laajasti ottaen kaikkia niitä Vanhan Testamentin tekstejä, jotka ennustavat tavalla tai toisella Jeshuan tulemista ja tehtävää. Ensimmäinen sellainen lienee 1. Moos. 3: 15, jossa on Adamille ja Eevalle annettu ennustus "vaimon siemenestä".

Generally we see that all texts in the Old Testament telling something about Yeshua's coming and mission are messianic. The first one is Gen. 3: 15... given to Adam and Eve is telling about "a seed of woman".

Sana "Messias" johdetaan heprean kielen sanasta משיח (maschiah), joka tarkoittaa voideltua/ voitelemalla virkaan asetettua. Koska Israelin papit ja kuninkaat voideltiin virkaansa, suurin osa VT:n varsinaisista messiasteksteistä liittyy joko inhimillisiin pappeihin (3. Moos. 4: 3, 5, 16) tai kuninkaisiin (1. Sam. 16: 6), ja kuninkaista nimenomaan Sauliin (1. Sam. 24: 7, 11; 2. Sam. 1: 14; 26: 11), Davidiin (2. Sam. 19: 22; 22: 51) ja Koorekseen (Jes. 45: 1).

The word "Messiah" is derived from the Hebrew word משיח (maschiah) meaning anointed. Because the priests and the kings of Israel were anointed the majority of the messiah texts in the Old Testament are telling about either human priests (Lev. 4: 3, 5, 16) or kings (1. Sam. 16: 6), and especially Saul (1. Sam. 24: 7, 11; 2. Sam. 1: 14; 26: 11), David (2. Sam. 19: 22; 22: 51) and Cyrus (Isa. 45: 1).

Useissa Daavidiin liittyvissä messiasteksteissä näyttäisi olevan kaksoismerkitys, sillä niissä on myös selvä viittaus Jeshuaan (useita tekstejä Samuelin kirjoissa, Aikakirjoissa ja Daavidin kirjoittamissa psalmeissa). Kunigas Daavid oli esikuva Jeshuasta, kunikaiden Kuninkaasta. Varsinaisesti vain Jeshuaan liittyviä messiastekstejä ovat 1. Sam. 2: 10, 35; Dan. 9: 25, 26.

Many texts about David seem to have a double meaning, for they refer clearly also to Yeshua (many texts in Samuel's books, Chronicles and David's psalms). Thus king David refers to Yeshua, the King of kings. Actually 1. Sam. 2: 10, 35 and Dan. 9: 25, 26 are pure Messiah texts... telling only about Yeshua.

Prophet Samuel anointed priests and kings by pouring oil on their head. Yeshua's anointment was not from this world, for his Father has anointed him. The heavenly anointment made Yeshua invincible both before men, devil and death. Although  the kings and rulers take counsel together it's just in vain (Ps. 2: 1 - 12).

When Yeshua went on one Sabbath day into a synagogue in Nazareth he got the book of Isaiah (Luke 4: 16 - 19) and opened it and found a chapter telling of himself, his anointment and mission (Isa. 61: 1 - 3). Even doctor Luke knew Yeshua's anointment, for he wrote like this: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him" (Acts 10: 38).

Heprean sana מושיע (moschia) muistuttaa vahvasti sanaa משיח (maschiah). Tämä sana voidaan kääntää sanoilla auttaja (1. Sam. 10: 19), pelastaja (Ps. 7: 11), puolustaja/vapauttaja (Jes. 19: 20), vapahtaja (Jes. 43: 3, 11; 45: 15; 63: 8; Jer. 14: 8). Kyseinen sana moschia esiintyy useita kertoja Tuomarien kirjassa, sillä Israelin tuomareista mm. Otniel, Eehud, Gideon ja Jefta olivat kansansa auttajia/vapauttajia/pelastajia ja siten myös esikuvia itse maailman Vapahtajasta.

A Hebrew word מושיע (moschia) reminds very much the word משיח (maschiah). This word can be translated helper (1. Sam. 10: 19), saviour (Ps. 7: 11), liberator/deliverer (Isa. 19: 20), redeemer (Isa. 43: 3, 11; 45: 15; 63: 8; Jer. 14: 8). This word occurs many times in the Book of Judges, for judges Othniel, Ehud, Gideon and Jeftah were those who helped/ liberated/saved their people and therefore they referred to the Redeemer of the world.

Tähän asti ja tästä eteenpäin * So far and so on

Kerratessani tänä aamuna heprean verbien taivutuksia jäin jälleen kerran miettimään imperfektissä olevan hajah-verbin kääntämistä. Koska heprean imperfekti ilmaisee keskeneräistä tai jatkuvaa tekemistä, se voidaan kääntää joko preesensillä tai futuurilla.

In this morning I repeated some Hebrew verb conjugations and began to ponder once again the hajah-verb in Imperfect and how to translate it. Because the Hebrew Imperfect conjugation is used to express incomplete action it's usually translated by the English present tense or future tense.

Mooses kuuli palavasta pensaasta sanat אהיה אשר אהיה (ehje asher ehje). Tuossa lauseessa on siis kaksi hajah-verbin muotoa ja niiden välissä yksi relatiivipronomini. Yleensä molemmat verbit on käännetty suomeksi preesensillä (minä olen), mutta esim. saksalaisessa Martti Lutherin käännöksessä on käytetty futuuria (Ich werde sein, der ich sein werde), ja samoin englanninkielisessä Leeser Old Testament 1853  -käännöksessä ( I will be that I will be).

Moses heard from the burning bush the words אהיה אשר אהיה (eheh asher ehyeh). There are two forms of the hahah-verb and one relative pronoun between them. Usually both verbs have been translated in Finnish by present tense, but for example the German Martin Luther's version has the future tense (Ich werde sein, der ich sein werde) as well as the English Leeser Old Testament  1853 (I will be that I will be).

Mutta entäpä jos käytettäisiin sekä futuuria että preesensiä!
Minä tulen olemaan joka olen... Minä olen joka tulen olemaan...
Eikö näissä käännöksissä tule hyvin esille Jumalan muuttumattomuus ja jatkuvuus! Toista samanlaista olevaa ei ole! Jumala on ainoa, joka on aina ollut, ja joka tulee aina olemaan! Hän on sama niin menneisyydessä kuin nykyisyydessä ja tulevaisuudessa!

But what if we'll use both the present tense and the future tense!
I will be that I am... I am that I will be...
Aren't they expressing God's constancy and perpetuity very well! There is no other one like God! God is the only one who has always been and who shall eternally exist! He is the same both in the past as well as in the present and in the future!

Näin ollen heprean sana אהיה (ehje) voidaan kääntää suomeksi myös (suomen) imperfektillä, niin kuin 2. Sam. 7: 6:ssa ja 7: 9:ssa on tehtykin. Saman luvun jakeessa 7: 14 sama sana (אהיה) on käännetty futuurilla.

Therefore the Hebrew word אהיה (eheh) can be translated even by the English past tense or present perfect like in 2. Sam 7: 6 and 7: 9. In the same chapter in the verse 14 the same word (אהיה) has been translated by the future tense.

Jumalalla ei ole alkua... eikä loppua. Niin kauan kuin hän ON, hänen katseensa on eteenpäin... niin se on ollut... niin se on... ja niin se tulee olemaan... ikuisesti.

God has no beginning nor end. As long as he EXISTS, he is looking forward... so it has been in the past... so it's now... and so it shall be... forever.

Ennen Betlehemiä * Before Bethlehem

Jeshuan nimi ilmoitettiin Joosefille, kun Mirjamin raskaus jo huomattiin (Matt. 1: 18 - 21).  Mirjamin synnyttämälle lapselle tuli siis antaa nimi Jeshua. Kuten hyvin tiedämme tuo lapsi syntyi Betlehemissä (Luuk. 2: 1 - 20).

The name Yeshua was announced to Joseph when Miriam's pregnancy was already noticed (Matthew 1: 18 - 21). The name Yeshua had to bee given to Miriam's child. As we know the child was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2: 1 - 20).

Mutta millä nimellä Jeshuaa voisi kutsua ennen Betlehemiä? Apostoli Johannes lienee miettinyt tarkoin tätä samaa kysymystä, sillä hän aloittaa evankeliuminsa ja Jeshuan taustan selvittämisen katsomalla mahdollisimman kauas... aina aikojen alkuun asti.

But what is Yeshua' name  before Bethlehem? Perhaps the apostle John wondered also the same question, for he started his gospel and the explanation of Yeshua' history by looking at the past as far as possible.

Johanneksen evankeliumin ensimmäisessä luvussa löytyykin useita sanoja, jotka määrittävät Jeshuaa. Seuraavaksi luettelo Johanneksen mainitsemista sanoista, joista lähes kaikki voitaisiin kirjoittaa niminä isolla alkukirjaimella, jos halutaan korostaa Jeesuksen tärkeyttä ja merkitystä.

Sana (1: 1, 14)
Elämä (1: 4)
Valkeus (1: 4, 9)
liha (1: 14) -> Ihminen
Ainokainen Poika (1: 14, 18)
Jeshua Messias (1: 17)
Jumalan Karitsa (1: 29)
Jumalan Poika (1: 34)

In the first chapter of John's gospel there are many words defining Yeshua. I made a list of those words and almost everyone of them could be wrote as a name beginning with a capital letter, if we want to emphasize the authority of Yeshua.

Word (1: 1, 14)
Life (1: 4)
Light (1: 4, 9)
flesh (1: 14) -> Man
the only (Begotten) Son (1: 14, 18)
Yeshua Messiah (1: 17)
the Lamb of God (1: 29)
the Son of God (1: 34)

SANA:
* Ensimmäisen jakeen loppuosa hepreaksi:

WORD:
* the end of the first verse in Hebrew:
ואלהים היה הדבר = GOD WAS THE WORD! (contrary to what has been translated)

* God who is a Spirit (John 4: 24) and the ONE who EXISTS forever (Rev. 1: 8) has owned his WORD eternally. His word exists with him from eternity even unto eternity

* Only God's WORD is life-giving force. "For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" (Ps. 33: 9)

ELÄMÄ:
* Jeshua takaa ikuisen elämän. Hän on tie, totuus ja elämä (Joh. 14: 6)

LIFE:
* Yeshua guarantees eternal life. He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14: 6)

VALKEUS:
* Valkeus luotiin ensimmäisenä päivänä. Jumala sanoi: יהי אור  = tulkoon valkeus
Johannes totesi Jeshuasta: בו היו חיים והחיים היו אור לבני האדם = Hänessä oli elämä, ja elämä oli ihmisten valkeus

LIGHT:
* Light was created in the first day. God said: יהי אור = let there be light
John said about Yeshua: בו היו חיים והחיים היו אור לבני האדם = in him was life; and the life was the light of men

LIHA:
* Sana tuli lihaksi Betlehemissä, kun Mirjamin poika syntyi. Sana muuttui Jeshuaksi

FLESH:
* The Word was made flesh in Bethlehem, when the son of Miriam was born. The word became Yeshua.

AINOKAINEN POIKA:
* Joh. 1: 18:n loppuosa hepreaksi:  הבן היחיד אשר בחיק האב הוא הודיצ = Ainokainen Poika, joka on Isän helmassa, on hänet ilmoittanut.

THE ONLY (BEGOTTEN) SON:
* The end of John 1: 18 in Hebrew: הבו היחיד אשר בחיק האב הוא הודיע = the only Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he had declared him. Barely the Spirit-God has any lap or a hem like we have. It's question about unity; the Father and the Son are one (John 10: 30), and therefore the Son is able to declare the Father

* Yeshua is the only Son because he is the only one who has conquered death

* God is a Spirit and he doesn't beget. The Hebrew jachid means the only one

JESHUA MESSIAS:
* Messias on suomeksi Voideltu. Sana Kristus johdetaan kreikasta, joka ei ollut Jeshuan äidinkieli, sillä hän puhui arameaa

YESHUA THE MESSIAH:
* Messiah means Anointed. The Word Christ comes from Greek, which was not Yeshua' mother tongue, for he spoke Aramaic

JUMALAN KARITSA:
* Jeshua on Jumalan Karitsa. Hänen täydellisen uhrin ansiosta syntien anteeksiantamus ja ikuinen elämä on tarjolla jokaiselle, joka uskoo hänen nimeensä (Joh. 3: 16)

THE LAMB OF GOD:
* Yeshua is the Lamb of God. Thanks to his perfect victim forgiveness and eternal life are available for everyone who believes in his name (John 3: 16)

JUMALAN POIKA:
* Jeshua on Jumalan Poika kuolleistanousemisensa kautta (Room. 1: 4)

THE SON OF GOD:
* Yeshua is the Son of God by his resurrection from the death (Rom. 1: 4)

Vanhaa tietoa * Ancient information

Otavan Isossa Tietosankirjassa (1960 - 65) kerrotaan hakusanasta "Jahvisti" seuraavaa:
-> pentateukin lähdeteorian mukaan se lähde, jossa jumalannimenä käytetään jo ennen Moosesta sanaa Jahve. Kertoo ihmiskunnan alkuhistoriasta, patriarkoista ja Israelin kansan varhaisimmista vaiheista; lienee koottu 10. ja 9. vuosisadalla eKr. Juudassa eläneiden perimätiedoista. (3. osa, sivu 1482)

In Encyclopedia Fennica (1960 - 65) there is information about Yahwist:
-> according to the sources of Pentateuch it's the source which has the god name Yahweh even before Moses. Telling about the beginning of the mankind, patriarchs and the points of Israel; the lores of those who were living in Judah have possible been collected together in the 10th and 9th century BC.

Pentateukki on kreikkalaisperäinen nimitys viidelle Mooseksen kirjalle eli Tooralle. On totta, että kun noita kirjoja lukee tekstiä analysoimalla, tulee väkisinkin siihen tulokseen, että tuo kokonaisuus on KOOTTU useammasta lähteestä. Nykyään lähteitä tiedetään olevan neljä: Jahvisti, Elohisti, Deuteronomium ja Pappiskirja.

Pentateuch is derived from Greek and it means the five books of Moses or Torah. It's true that we may notice the fact that those books have been COLLECTED from several sources if we read analytically the texts. Nowadays we know four different sources: Yahwist, Eulohist, Deuteronomist and the Priestly source.

It seems that the information of those four sources has been cut up and mixed among each other. This comes forth if we colour every God-word (Hebrew Elohim) for instance with red and every Lord-word (Hebrew Yahweh) with blue. In this way the colours are playing from the very beginning of Genesis: the first chapter in red, the second in blue... the beginning of the sixth chapter in blue and the end (from the verse nine) in red... etc.

Jahvisti lienee siis koottu Daavidin ja Salomon aikoihin. Mooseshan eli noin 400 - 500 vuotta aikaisemmin, mutta Jahvistiin koottujen perimätietojen mukaan nimeä Jahve on käytetty jo ennen Mooseksen aikaa. Mitä on sitten ajateltava 2. Moos. 6: 2, 3:sta?

Thus the Yahwist has been collected in the times of David and Solomon. Moses lived about 400- 500 years earlier, but as it's said about the Yahwist the name Yahweh was in use even before the times of Moses. Then what should we think about Ex. 6: 2, 3?

"Jumala sanoi Moosekselle: "Minä olen Jahve, Herra. Abrahamille, Iisakille ja Jaakobille minä olen ilmestynyt Jumalan, Kaikkivaltiaan nimisenä, mutta nimeäni Jahve minä en heille ilmoittanut." (1922)

"And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them."(KJV)

2. Moos. 3: 14:ssa Jumalan kerrotaan ilmoittaneen nimekseen אהיה (EHJEE). Tuliko Jumala mielenmuutokseen, ja antoiko hän Moosekselle myöhemmin uuden ilmoituksen nimestään?

It's told in Ex. 3: 14 that God told Moses that his name is אהיה (EHYEH). Did God change his mind and did he gave later a new information to Moses of his name?

1. Moos. 4: 26:ssa kerrotaan, että IHMISET alkoivat huutaa avuksi Jahven nimeä. Miten he osasivat valita taivaan Jumalalle juuri oikean nimen, jonka hän VASTA noin 2300 vuotta myöhemmin ilmoitti Moosekselle? Vai oliko heidän jumalansa lainkaan OIKEA taivaan Jumala, joka ilmoitti palavan pensaan keskeltä Moosekselle nimensä olevan EHJEE?

In Gen. 4: 26 it's told that PEOPLE began to call upon the name of Yahweh. How on earth could those people pick the right name for God, which he introduced NEWLY about 2300 years later to Moses? Or was their god the RIGHT heavenly God at all... he who told from the burning bush his name EHYEH to Moses?

Lieneekö 2. Moos. 6: 2, 3 vain jonkinlainen tekaistu lisäys Jahve-nimen maineen puhdistamiseksi? Saahan 1. Moos. 4:stä luvusta selvästi sen käsityksen, että Jahven nimeä alettiin huutaa nimenomaan kainilaisten keskuudessa, ja Kainhan oli perheineen sotajalalla taivaan Jumalaa vastaan!

Could it be that Ex. 6: 2, 3 is just an addition in order to try to clean the fame of the name Yahweh? Isn't it true that we can understand from the 4th chapter of Genesis that it was the family of Cain who began to call upon Yahweh's name, and Cain and his relatives were openly opposing the heavenly God!

Olkootpa Jahven huutajat olleet sitten kainilaisia tai seetiläisiä, he ovat kuitenkin kaikki IHMISIÄ! Valitsisiko Jumala oman nimensä ihmisten tahdon ja valinnan mukaan... varsinkin, kun nimi Jahve oli tahriintunut jo Kainista alkaen viattomien vereen, riettauteen ja väkivaltaan?

No matter who were they; the descendants of Cain or Seth however they were HUMAN BEINGS! Could it be possible that God could choose his own name according people's mind and choice... especially when the name Yahweh was already fouled with innocent blood, vileness and violence?

Minä en ikinä usko sitä! Jumala ei anna kunniaansa toiselle... ei varsinkaan pahimmalle vastustajalleen!

I can't believe it ever! God doesn't give his glory to others... anyway to his worst opposer!

Liiton merkki * Sign of the covenant

Aadamin ja Eevan väärä valinta Eedenissä johti syntiinlankeemukseen, jonka seurauksena kaikenlainen pahuus lisääntyi lisääntymistään maan päällä. Runsaan tuhannen vuoden aikana ihmiskunnan pahuus oli saavuttanut sellaiset mitat, että jokainen sai alati pelätä henkensä edestä, sillä ihmisten taipumukset ja ajattelutapa oli kaiken aikaa ainoastaan ala-arvoista ja kieroa (1. Moos. 6: 5).

The wrong choice of Adam and Eve led to the Fall and as a consequence of that wickedness increased more and more on the earth. After a thousand years malice reached such dimensions that each will ever fear for their lives, for their tendency and way of thinking was all the time only inferior and vicious (Gen. 6: 5).

Nooa oli aikalaistensa keskuudessa moraalisesti oikein elävä ja yhteiskunnallisesti hyvin käyttäytyvä mies. Hänen kanssaan Jumala teki eli pystytti liiton eli yhteisen sopimuksen (1. Moos. 6: 18). Nooan tuli rakentaa arkki ja viedä sinne perheensä, ja Jumala lupasi pelastaa heidät arkissa koko maata koettelevalta tulvalta.

Among those men Noah was a man who lived morally right and behaved socially well. With him God made or erected a covenant or a common contract (Gen. 6: 18). Noah had to build an ark and take his family inside and God promised to save them in the ark from the Flood.

Arkki kuvaa Jeesusta, Messiasta, jonka veri on jokaisen häneen uskovan ihmisen varma suoja (Joh. 3: 16). Jeesus on pelastuksen arkki hänen sovitustyöhönsä uskoville aivan samoin, kuin vedenpaisumuksessa Nooan rakentama arkki pelasti hänen perheensä.

The ark is an symbol of Jesus, the Messiah, whose blood is a certain shelter for them who believe in him (John 3: 16). Jesus is the ark of salvation like Noah's ark saved his family.

Vedenpaisumuksen jälkeen Jumala vahvisti liittonsa Nooan kanssa merkillä, joka näkyi pilvissä. Tuon merkin muodostavat Jumalan pilvissä oleva pilvi ja kaari.

After the Flood God ratified his covenant with Noah by a sign in clouds. The sign consists of a cloud and a bow in God's clouds.

1. Moos. 9: 14 hepreaksi:
והיה בענני ענן על הארץ ונראתה הקשת בענן׃

בענני = pilvissäni
ענן = pilvi
הקשת = (se) kaari

Gen. 9: 14 in Hebrew:
והיה בענני ענן על הארץ ונראתה הקשת בענן׃

בענני = in my clouds
ענן = a cloud
הקשת = (the) bow

Ennen vedenpaisumusta ei ollut satanut, eikä myöskään pilviä oltu nähty taivaalla ennen tulvaa. Vedenpaisumus oli valtava myrsky, jossa taivas peittyi paksuista pilvistä. Siksi pilvet ovat saattaneet jäädä pelottavaksi enteeksi Nooalle ja hänen perheelleen. Mutta Jumala rohkaisi Nooaa ja hänen perhettään nostamaan katseensa taivaalle.

Before the Flood it has not rained and nor clouds have been seen in the sky. The Flood was an enormous storm and thick clouds covered the sky. Maybe Noah and his family were afraid of the clouds even afterwards when they saw clouds. But God encouraged them to look up to the clouds.

Heprean tekstissä kiinnitetään huomio pilveen ja kaareen.
Pilvien joukossa on siis joku erityinen pilvi. Se pilvi, jolla Jeesus nousi taivaaseen (Apt. 1: 9), lienee aivan erityinen. Samoin se pilvi, jolla hän palaa (Matt. 26: 64; Apt. 1: 11). Jumalan Nooalle antama liiton merkki enteilee siis Jeesuksen taivaaseen astumista ja hänen toista tulemustaan, joihin kumpaankin liittyy erityinen pilvi.

Hebrew text turns our attention to a cloud and a bow. Among clouds there shall be some special cloud. The cloud which carried Jesus to heaven must be such a special one (Acts 1: 9). And even the cloud on which he shall return (Matthew 26: 64; Acts 1: 11). Therefore the sign of the covenant with Noah has a prophecy of Jesus' ascension and his return, for a special cloud pertains both of them.

Sana קשת (qeshet) merkitsee sateenkaaren lisäksi kaarta ja jousta. Taivaalla näkyvä sateenkaari on siten kuin Jumalan jousi, johon Jeesus, Jumalan elävä sana, liittyy nuolena, joka voi "sammuttaa kaikki pahan palavat nuolet" (Ef. 6: 16). Jumalan liiton merkki sisältää näin viestin henkivaltojen taistelusta taivaan avaruuksissa (Ef. 6: 12), mutta myös vakuutuksen Jumalan Nuolen voitosta.

The word קשת (qeshet) means not only rainbow but also bow. Thus the rainbow in the sky is like God's bow and Jesus, God's living Word, is like an arrow, which "quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked" (Eph. 6: 16). Thus the sign of God's covenant includes a message about a wrestle against spiritual wickedness (Eph. 6: 12), but also an insurance of the triumph of God's Arrow.

Liiton merkin symboliikka keskittyy näin ollen mitä suurimmassa määrin Jeesukseen. Myös 1. Moos. 9: 16:ssa löydän sanat: valitsen pojalle ikuisen liiton.

The symbolism of the sign of the covenant concentrates mostly to Jesus. I can even read Gen 9: 16 like this: I choose to son an eternal covenant.

In the word ראיתיה the verb ראה means see, notice, perceive, look at, examine but with a preposition ל it means choose, select. The next word begins with the preposition ל and the word itself means as a verb remember, recall, take into account, think, consider but as a masculine it refers to male, man, son.

Kun katsomme sateenkaarta seuraavan kerran, voimme ajatella sen edustavan lunastuksen merkkiä. Jumalan Nooan kanssa (tekemä) pystyttämä (הקים) liitto näkyy taivaan pilvissä viimeisellekin sukupolvelle.

When we look at the rainbow next time we can take it as the sign of salvation. The covenant God (made) erected with Noah is to bee seen in the clouds even to the last generation.
