Jeesuksen todistus * Jesus' testimony

Kuten lukijani ovat jo varmaan huomanneet, minä ihmettelen tetragrammia יהוה.

I think my readers have already noticed that I'm wondering the Tetragrammaton יהוה. I have written about it nearly ten years and still I have something to say.

"Adonai" on sukua sanalle אדון (adon), joka merkitsee herraa, isäntää, omistajaa. Tällä perusteella myös sana "adonai" käännetään sanalla "Herra".

In the Hebrew pronunciation the Tetragrammaton is replaced by the word "adny" written like this אדון. The words aren't looking similar at all! "Adny" reminds another word אדון (adon) meaning lord, boss, owner. Therefore even "adny" is translated by the word "Lord".

Kertauksen vuoksi laitan tähänkin kirjoitukseeni muutaman minua ihmetyttävän seikan tetragrammista:
1. Tetragrammin alkuperä on ainakin minulle hämärän peitossa. 2. Moos.

Hajah-verbin yksikön kolmannen persoonan muoto on יהיה (jihje).

Matkiiko Paholainen Jumalaa, vai palvelevatko Jumalan seuraajat Paholaisen lanseeraamaa jumalaa? Siihen kysymykseen minä etsin vastausta! Arkeologia tuo jatkuvasti päivänvaloon muinaisia kirjoituksia, ja tuntuu siltä, että jokainen uusi tetragrammi-löytö nostattaa suuren kohun. Tetragrammi tunnistetaan myös paleo-heprean teksteissä. Paremmin tunnettu muoto (יהוה) on neliöfontti.

For the sake of review I repeat some points about the Tetragrammaton I must continuously wonder:
1. The origin of the Tetragrammaton isn't clear enough for me. In Exodus (6: 3) it's told that it was only given to Moses, but people living in the time of Enoch used it already (Gen. 4: 26). And we can see the Tetragrammaton also in the Second Creation Story (Gen. 2: 1 - 25). It's also known that already the Sumerians (and other nations) had the similar letter code devoted to their (pagan) god.

2. To take the name of the Lord in vain is banned in the third commandment (Ex. 20: 7) and it concerns even the statement of it. But nobody even knows how to pronounce the Tetragrammaton correctly. Not even the Masoretes (700 - 1100 A.D.) didn't give any clarity to this question. Occultism and the Kabbalah are taught that if somebody says it correctly the entire universe would collapse. Would the name of the creator annihilate the universe?

3. What about the grammar and the meaning of the Tetragrammaton. Allegedly the Tetragrammaton is a causative form of the verb havah (to become) in imperfect and the third person in singular and it means "he makes to become". A Hebrew expert and a scholar of the faculty of theology in Helsinki university answered to my straight question that there is no havah-verb in the Tetragrammaton.
Could it be then the verb hajah (be, come, happen)? No way! The conjugation of that verb in the third person of singular is יהיה (jihje). Of course it looks almost like the Tetragrammaton. But it can not be translated with the words "he is" and forced to mean the same as אהיה ehyeh or "I am". However this is how it's done and I can't understand it! If Yahweh is the same as Ehyeh, it should be pronounced ehyeh and written אהיה.

4. The Tetragrammaton is a sacred code in Judaism, Christianity and paganism. But where it was first used? Is the Devil imitating God or are God's followers worshipping a (pagan) god made by Devil? To that question I'm looking for a response! Archeology continually reveals ancient writings and it seems to me that every new found of the Tetragrammaton raises a lot of frenzy. The Tetragrammaton is known even in the Paleo-Hebrew. But the form we know better (יהוה) is the square font.

Heprean kieli koki taantumisen vuosina 200 eKr.

Hebrew was a dead language 200 B.C - 200 A.D. and even a long period after that it was used only by the scholars (Masoretes 700 - 1100). Aramaic written with the same Alphabet as Hebrew replaced Hebrew in those centuries. Aramaic was the native language of Jesus. Also the disciples were speaking Aramaic. Nowadays even some scholars are thinking that the New Testament was written in Aramaic at first or at least without Greek.

The Tetragrammaton has been translated with the word "Lord", and in the Old Testament there are almost 7000 words of "Lord". "Lord" refers to the Father as the Lord of Jesus and to Jesus as our Lord,  and of course "lord" means a human boss, which has been translated from the word אדון (adon). But how to write Lord/lord in Aramaic? Does the Tetragrammaton exist also in Aramaic? After all, it has even tuned into English as YHWH, why not into Aramaic... even the same Alphabet with Hebrew! I had to find out. This past week has been extremely exciting while I have been browsing the words "Lord/lord" in the Finnish, Hebrew and Aramaic New Testament.

Luulin todellakin törmääväni tetragrammiin myös arameankielisissä Uuden Testamentin kirjoissa, mutta mikä riemullinen yllätys; en löytänyt ainuttakaan!

I actually thought I should come across the Tetragrammaton even in Aramaic books of the New Testament, but what a delightful surprise; I didn't find any one!

Herra/herra on arameaksi:
מאר (mare)
מריא (mar'iah) erityisesti Herra Jumala
Myös hepreaksi sana מר (mar) merkitsee herra

Lord/lord in Aramaic is:
מאר (mare)
מריא (mar'iah) especially about the Lord God

With a rapid browse I found 637 words of Lord/lord and in Aramaic everyone of them written as above... no Tetragrammaton at all! But in the Hebrew New Testament (the versio of Franz Delitzsch) I found the Tetragrammaton 168 times and  the word "adon" 469 times.

Moos. 6: 4:sta, Ps. 110: 1:sta, Ps. 118: 26:sta ja Jes. 61: 2:sta tehdyt lainaukset.

It seems to me that Delitzsch has made straight quotations from the Old Testament (right!) and of course the Tetragrammaton has followed in them otherwise he has used the word אדון (adon)... even of God and Jesus. Some Aramaic texts without Tetragarammaton seemed to me a great surprise. Such are the quotations from  Deut. 6: 4; Ps. 110: 1; 118: 26 and Isa 61: 2.

What would I think about this? If the form יהוה were the name of God that Jesus honoured and taught the disciples to pray for (Matthew 6: 9), he may have said it even once. I suppose that even his brothers James and Jude would have used it, likewise the beloved John and his other followers who have written the texts in the New Testament. But not one Tetragrammaton in the books of the Aramaic New Testament!

Minä olen kirjoittanut tetragrammista jo melkein kymmenen vuotta, mutta Jeesus jätti koko asian sikseen. Tyhjät ja merkityksettömät asiat kaatuvat itsestään. Mutta tämän viikon tutkistelu siunasi minua suunnattomasti, sillä nyt tiedän, miten voin heprean aakkosilla kirjoittaa nimen Herra... kas näin מריא. Loistava vastine tetragrammille, antonyymi, jota ei käytetä okkultismissa Kiitos, Jeesus!

I have written almost ten years about the Tetragrammaton, but Jesus left it behind. Empty and insignificant things fall without resistance. But the study of this week blessed me very much, for now I know how to write Lord with the Hebrew Alphabet... like this מריא. A great opposite to the Tetragrammaton, an antonym not used in occultism. Thank you Jesus!

Levon juhla * The feast of rest

Kaikkien parantamisten ohessa Jeesus suoritti kolme kuolleista herättämistä. Jairuksen tyttären herättämisestä kertovat kolme evankelistaa Matteus (9: 18,19, 23 - 25), Markus (5: 35 - 43) ja Luukas (8: 40 - 42 , 49 - 56), Nainin lesken pojan herättämisestä kertoo ainoastaan Luukas (7: 11 - 17) ja Lasaruksen herättämisestä puolestaan Johannes (11: 1 - 44).

In addition to all acts of healing Jesus aroused three dead persons. Matthew (9: 18, 19, 23 - 25), Mark (5: 35 - 43) and Luke (8: 40 - 42, 49 - 56) are telling about the daughter of Jairus, Luke (7: 11 - 17) alone writes about the son of a widow in Nain and John (11: 1 - 44) about Lazarus.

9: 5, 6/ 1992).

Both of the daughter of Jairus and Lazarus Jesus said to the mourning and weeping relatives: she/he is sleeping. So Jesus compared death to sleep, from which we are awakened, but during which we know nothing about the rest of the world. Even in the book of Ecclesiastes death is described in the same way: "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion of ever in any thing that is done under the sun" (Ecc. 9: 5, 6).

Although one word is different in the Finnish translations the main idea is the same: the dead no longer participate in the events of this world anymore and only living people work in this world. When death ends and the dead get alive then they are again involved in the events of this world. This happened to the 12-year old daughter of the leader of a synagogue on the west shore of the See of Galilee, to the only son of a widow in Nain (about 14 km south of Nazareth) and to the brother of Martha and Mary in Bethany.

Näissä teksteissä Franz Delitzsch (1813 - 1890) on käyttänyt Uuden Testamentin käännöksessään heprean sanaa ישן (jashan), joka merkitsee nukahtamista, nukkumista ja kuolleena olemista. Kyseinen verbi esiintyy myös Vanhan Testamentin puolella 16 kertaa.

In these texts Franz Delitzsch (1813 - 1890) has used in his translations of the New Testament the Hebrew word ישן (jashan) meaning to fall asleep, to sleep and to be dead. The same verb appears 16 times in the Old Testament.

Death is perceived as an unpleasant event and also the word "death" is tried to avoid with some softer expressions. Such Finnish expressions... euphemisms... are made of sleep and rest.

Verbi "levätä" on hepreaksi נוח (navach), ja substantiivi "lepo" on מנוחה (menucha). "kuollut kieli" 200 eKr. - 200 jKr.

A Hebrew verb meaning "to rest" is נוח (navach) and the corresponding noun is מנוחה (menucha). But God's rest on the seveth day of the first week has been expressed by the verb שבת (shabat). The word שבת (shabat) is known both in Hebrew and Aramaic. Aramaic is another Jewish language and the language of Jesus, for Hebrew was "a dead language" 200 BC - 200 AD.

Kuusi luomispäivää/työpäivää edelsivät Jumalan lepopäivää, ja seitsemännen päivän jälkeen viikko alkoi taas "ensimmäisestä päivästä". Samalla tavalla kuin sapatin jälkeen alkaa uusi viikko, samalla tavalla uskossa kuolleille alkaa uusi elämä ylösnousemuksessa, sillä Jeesus on ylösnousemus (Joh. 11: 25).

Six creation/working days passed before God's rest-day, and after the seventh day a new week began again with "the first day". As a new week begins after every sabbath so in resurrection a new life begins to those who have died in faith, because Jesus is the resurrection (John 11: 25).

Lasaruksen herättämisen kohdalla Jeesus tuntui pelaavan aikaa.

In the case of Lazarus it seems to me that Jeesus was playing time. When he was informed of the weak condition of Lazarus he didn't harry up to arrive. And to the message of Martha and Mary he replied: "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby" (John 11: 4).

However Lazarus died and he was dead for the forth day when Jesus awakened him. But Jesus said: "our fiend Lazarus rests" reminding us at the same time of God's rest in the end of the creation week (Gen. 2: 3). In the Aramaic text telling about Lazarus' death and resurrection there are unexpectedly the words לעזר רחמן שבת "Lazarus, our friend, rests".

The Almighty God, who doesn't need night-time to restore his powers, didn't even require a sabbath rest to eliminate exhaustion and burnout, but his rest had some deeper meaning. Wakening of Lazarus reveals it to us.

The sabbath forms a bridge between creation and redemption. The first sabbath and God's rest are a prophecy of the Winner of Death or the Son of God (Rome 1: 3, 4), who resurrected thousands years after creation and opened the way from death to life.

Jumala loi ihmisen viikon kuudentena päivänä. Jeesus lunasti ihmisen viikon kuudentena päivänä, sillä hän kuoli valmistuspäivänä eli perjantaina. Jumalan lepo luomisen päätteeksi maailman ensimmäisenä sapattina esikuvasi sitä päivää, jonka Jeesus lepäsi Joosef Arimatialaisen haudassa (Luuk. 23: 50 - 53) lunastustyönsä päätteeksi. Se päivä oli sapatti (Luuk. 23: 54 - 56 ; 24: 1 - 3).

God created man on the sixth day of the week. Jesus redeemed man on the sixth day of the week, for he died on Friday, the preparation day. God's rest at the end of creation on the first sabbath of the world illustrated the day when Jesus rested in the tomb of Joseph from Arimathea (Luke 23: 50 - 53) at the end of the redemption. That day was a sabbath (Luke 23: 54 - 56; 24: 1 - 3).

The awakening of Lazarus is one of the last miracles Jesus made before his death. The moments of his test ahead were probably on his mind. When approaching the tomb of Lazarus he could see his approaching probation. "Jesus wept" (John 11: 35). The Jews thought Jesus was weeping for his dear friend, but I think he already did his last fight with Satan... the fight, which culminated in Gethsemane and on Golgotha. But even in that hour he chose faith.

Niin kuin enkelit vierittivät kiven pois Jeesuksen haudalta, samoin Jeesus kehotti tekemään Lasaruksen haudan suulla olevalle kivelle (Joh. 11: 39). Luottaen Isän rakkauteen Jeesus kohotti äänensä ja kutsui Lasaruksen ulos haudasta... vapaaksi kuoleman otteesta.

Like the angels rolled the stone away on Jesus' tomb, in the same way Jesus ordered people to take the stone away (John 11: 39). Relying on Father's love Jesus raised his voice and called Lazarus out from the tomb... free from the grip of death.

From the very beginning the sabbath has been a feast of rest... a delight (Isa. 58: 13) because it is a prophecy of the glorious triumph of Jesus and the loss/death of the Prince of Death. Is it therefore any wonder that Satan has fought against God even in this matter and succeeded in leading almost the whole world to turn down the day God has blessed and sanctified... the day on which God himself rested!

Sapatti on ainoa päivä, joka on saanut nimensä luomisessa. Kaikkia muita päiviä kutsutaan järjestysnumeronsa mukaan, mutta nimi "sapatti" on johdettu heprean/aramean verbistä levätä שבת (shabat).

The sabbath is the only day, which got it's name in the creation. All the other days are called according to the number, but the name "sabbath" has been derived from the Hebrew/Aramaic verb שבת (shabat).

Puhdista jalkasi * Clean your feet

Moos. 3: 5).

A bush which flamed out attracted attention and interest of a shepherd in Midian. Moses, who steered the flock of sheep of his father-in-law decided to go closer to that miracle. But he was told: "Don't come here!" It seemed that the bush will withstand the flames but Moses had to stay farther. And it was not enough. He had to take off his sandals, for the voice continued: "put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground" (Ex. 3: 5).

Kengillä yleensä suojataan jalat kolhuilta, kylmältä, kuumalta yms., ja kenkien riisuminen taas kuuluu meidän kulttuurissamme yleisesti siisteyden ylläpitämiseen. Monilla meillä on tapana riisua kengät jo eteisessä.

Usually the feet are protected from bumps, cold and hot etc. by shoes and slipping shoes is a thing of cleanliness in our culture. Many of us use to drop the shoes already in the hallway. But what does it mean to undress the protective footwear in the middle of the wilderness? Apparently in the case of Moses it was not question of taking off the foot protection but undressing the curtain covering the soul and facing the inner truth.

Moos. 3: 7).

The presence of the Holy God made the whole area holy. God's holiness is righteousness... sinlessness, which makes everyone to realise his nakedness like Adam and Even in the Paradise (Gen. 3: 7).

Jalkojen paljastaminen edustaa sisimmän avaamista Jumalan edessä. Jalat johtavat ihmisen joko hyvään tai pahaa, ja jalanjäljet paljastavat peittelemättömästi ihmisen koko vaelluksen. Saarnaaja kehoittaa varomaan jalkojaan Jumalan huoneeseen astuttaessa (Srn. 4: 17 = 5: 1), ja Jesaja kehoittaa pidättämään jalkansa sapattia rikkomasta (Jes. 58: 13). Jumalaan turvaava varoo jalkansa pahoilta teiltä (Ps. 119: 101), eikä Jumala salli lastensa jalkojen horjua (Ps. 121: 3). Jesaja ylistää ilosanoman eli evankeliumin tuojan jalkoja suloisiksi (Jes. 52:7).

Revealing the feet means opening one's heart before God. The feet lead us either to god or evil and the footsteps overtly reveal the whole human wandering. In Ecclesiastes we are urged to keep our feet when we go to the house of God (Ecc. 5: 1), and in Isaiah to turn to our feet away from breaking the sabbath (Isa. 58: 13). "I have refrained my feet from every evil way" (Ps. 119: 101) says the one who trusts on God, and God will not suffer his children's feet to be moved (Ps. 121: 3). Isaiah praises beautiful the feet of them that brings good tidings (Isa. 52: 7).

Therefore some symbolic message is associated with feet. On the Supper Jesus washed only the feet of his disciples and it was enough, although Peter wanted to be totally washed (John 13: 5 - 10).

Heprean sana רגל (regel) tarkoittaa jalan lisäksi myös sukupuolielintä (2. Moos. 4: 25). Seitsemännen käskyn rikkominen (2. Moos.

The Hebrew word רגל (regel) means foot but also sex organ (Ex. 4: 25). Breaking the seventh commandment (Ex. 20: 14) is such "a filthiness of feet" that began already in Eden, and it has been the sin of sins through the ages. Therefore to reveal and clean one's feet means to report openly even your most secret thoughts before the all-seeing Holy One and to clean your life from all filthiness.

Vastaava heprean verbi רגל (ragal) merkitsee vakoilemista ja panettelua. Toisten ihmisten elämä tuntuu usein olevan paljon kiinnostavampi kuin oma, ja lähimmäisten elämän vatvominen johtaa tuhoisiin "metsäpaloihin" suun syntien kautta (Jaak. 3: 5 - 10). Puheessa hairahtuminen on yleistä, ja siksi Jaakob pitää puheensa hallitsevaa ihmistä täydellisenä (Jaak. 3: 2).

The corresponding verb אגל (ragal) means to spy and slander. It seems that other people's life is much more interesting than one's own life and to slander other people causes devastating "forest fires" through the sins of a mouth (James 3: 5 - 10). "We offend all, but if any man offend not in word he is perfect", says James (James 3: 2).

The ancient rabbits taught that slander/aspersion is the biggest sin because it's effects are immeasurable. Perhaps at first it poisons only three people; the one who slanders, the one who is listening to and the object of slander, but depending on the number of the listeners and how many of them turn to be also a knocker, the destruction of this sin may be greater than any fire we have ever seen.

The encounter with Ehyeh lead Moses to study his own heart, to regret and confess his sins and to repent (Prov. 28: 13).

Me katselemme Jumalan kirkkautta kuin kuvastimesta eli peilistä (1. Kor. 13: 12), ja muutumme saman kuvan kaltaisiksi (2. Kor. 3: 18). Mooses, joka oli tappanut egyptiläisen miehen (2. Moos. 2: 12), kohtasi totuuden omasta elämästään kaikkinäkevän Ehjeen silmien edessä, ja siitä alkoi hänen elämänsä muutos "nöyrimmäksi mieheksi" (4. Moos. 12: 3).

We look at the glory of God like through a glass or a mirror (1. Cor. 13: 12) and change into the same image (2. Cor. 3: 18). Moses had killed an Egyptian (Ex. 2: 12) and faced the truth of his own heart before the eyes of Ehyeh, and from that moment the change of his life to "the meekest man" (Num. 12: 3) began. May be the change of his life is reflecting in the numeral counterpart or reflection, which is seen between the numeral value (345) of his name (Moses) and the numeral value (543) of the words EHYEH ASHER EHYEH.

Tunnemmeko Isämme * Do we know our Father

When Jesus gave his disciples general prayer instructions (Matthew 5: 44 - 6: 13), he taught them also the prayer of Our Father which art in heaven. Hardly it could be called a prayer formula, for Matthew and Luke have written it in a bit different words (Matthew 6: 9 - 13; Luke 11: 1 - 4), but a prayer model it really is. This prayer has not been spoiled by length nor too many words. It has no high churchy spirit out of reach, for the prayer has been headed to "Our Father".

It seems to me that in occasions where participants pray together very few people know it and that the perception of the prayers about the recipient of the prayer is not clear enough.

Jesus spoke continuously about the Father, and the Father was the most important thing to him. But if the disciples were acquainted with the Jewish scriptures, the Father should have been close and familiar even to them.

Vanhan Testamentin eli Tooran teksteissä on valotettu Isän luonnetta ja ominaisuuksia jo ennen, kuin Jeesus tuli niitä konkreettisesti paljastamaan maailmalle oman elämänsä kautta.

The character and the features of the Father have been illuminated in the texts of the Old Testament or Torah even long before Jesus concretely came to reveal them to the world through his own life.

Taivaallinen Isä on esitelty ihmisille luojanamme ja tekijänämme 5. Moos. 32: 6:ssa ja Mal. 2: 10: ssä. Samaan ominaisuuteen viittaa myös Jesaja kutsuessaan Isäämme valajaksi (Jes. 64: 8). Tiedämme, että Jumala loi kaiken sanallaan (Ps. 33: 6, 9), mutta mielikuva savenvalajasta muovaamassa sormiensa hipiällä astioitaan syventää tunteitamme Isäämme kohtaan.

The heavenly Father has been presented us as our creator and the one who has made us in Deut. 32: 6 and Mal. 2: 10. Even Isaiah has referred to the same feature when he described the Father as a potter (Isa. 64: 8). We know that God created everything by his word (Ps. 33: 6, 9), but a vision of a potter forming his vessels by the skin of his fingers makes our emotions deeper towards our Father.

Tässä kaoottisessa maailmassa harvat ihmiset välttyvät kovilta iskuilta, siksi tuntuu ihanalta ajatella Taivaallista Isäämme "orpojen isänä" ja "leskien puolustajana" (Ps. 68: 6) sekä suurena kaitsijana, joka johdattelee puoleensa kääntyneet itkijät "tasaista tietä... runsasvetisten purojen äärelle" (Jer. 31: 9/1992).

In this chaotic world few people evades hard strikes, therefore it feels wonderful to think our heavenly Father as "a father of the fatherless", "a judge of the widows" (Ps. 68: 5) and a great shepherd, who will help the weeping ones "to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way" (Jer. 31: 9).

As a child I heard how some parents guided their children by threatening that God would drop a hot stone from heaven on disobedient children. We get quite another picture from David's psalm saying: "like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him" (Ps. 103: 13).

People can be cruel to each other and even to their own children. Some parents give their inheritance rather to strangers than to them. The heavenly Father has never given such an example, for he has promised to give his children "a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations" (Jer. 3: 19).

Jesaja kirjoittaa 63: 16:ssa/1938:
"... sinä, Herra olet meidän isämme; meidän Lunastajamme on ikiajoista sinun nimesi."

The motivation of our heavenly Father in all his activities is the fact that he has been our Redeemer... already from the ancient times.
Isaiah writes in 63: 16:
'... thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting."
The Hebrew word גאל (goel) means redeemer and it appears in Ruth 3: 9 referring to a kinsman, Boaz, and in Isa. 49: 7, where Isaiah speaks beautifully about "the Redeemer of Israel".

Toivottavasti nämä Vanhan Testamentin tarjoamat kuvat Isästämme, antavat meille läheisemmän suhteen häneen, ja tunnemme hänet syvemmin omaksi Isäksemme, kun seuraavan kerran rukoilemme Isä meidän -rukouksen... Jeesuksen nimessä.

Hope these Old Testament pictures of our Father will give us a closer relationship with him and we'll know him deeper as our Father, when we next time pray Our Father which art in heaven... in Jesus' name.

Paha näyttämöllä * Evil on the stage

During the past week I have been reading for the second time Kari Kuula's book about the biography of the Devil and realised that an old person like me can't remember very much after one reading. Kari Kuula has gathered information about the Devil both from the Bible and from outside and widely portrayed both the Jewish and Christian ideas of Lucifer alias Satan in different eras.

According to the Book of Revelation we know that Lucifer began a war in heaven, but prevailed not, and so He was cast out on the earth with his angels (Rev. 12: 7 - 9). But when this rebellion took place in relation to the events of the Earth and mankind? Kari Kuula tells that in the literature from the second temple era ( 500 BC - 100 AD) there are three possible answers, and they are:
1. the second creation day, when the creation of the visible world started
2. the sixth creation day, when God created man
3. before the Flood, when "the sons of God" knew "the daughters of men"

The first human couple didn't have any Jewish holy writings nor the Bible, for they didn't have any written information of the times before they themselves. But they were allowed to discuss with God face to face. What God had revealed to them before their fatal Fall... we don't know... and what Adam and Eve conveyed to their children!

Joh. 8: 12:ssa Jeesus sanoo: "Minä olen maailman valkeus."
1. Joh. 1: 5:ssa Johannes kirjoittaa: "Jumala on valkeus."
Kummassakin tekstikohdassa sana "valkeus" on hepreaksi ilman määräistä artikkelia, mikä tarkoittaa sitä, että kysymyksessä on erisnimi. Näin ollen sana valkeus voitaisiin kirjoittaa isolla alkukirjaimella... Valkeus.

Both the Father and Jesus are presented to us as a light in the Bible.
Jesus says in John 8: 12: "I am the light of the world."
John writes in 1. John 1: 5: "God is light."
In both texts the word "light" is without the definite article in Hebrew, which means that it's question of a proper noun. Therefore we could write as well: Light.

"Jumala on valkeus"... eikä "hänessä ole mitään pimeyttä" (1. Joh. 1: 5). Sam. 2: 9)... "jumalattomien tie on kuin pimeys" (Snl. 4: 19)... "kansa, joka pimeydessä vaeltaa näkee suuren valkeuden" (Jes. 9: 1; Matt. 4: 16)... "joka on pelastanut meidät pimeyden vallasta" (Kol. 1: 13)... "sillä kaikki te olette valkeuden lapsia ja päivän lapsia; emme ole yön emmekä pimeyden lapsia (1. Tess. 5: 5)... "joka on pimeydestä kutsunut meidät ihmeelliseen valkeuteensa" (1. Piet. 2: 9)... jne.

"God is light, and in him is no darkness at all" (1. John 1: 5). If light is a synonym and a code to the word God then darkness is Satan's name and sign. This principle goes through the whole Bible: "the wicked shall be silent in darkness" (1. Sam. 2: 9)... "the way of the wicked is as darkness" (Prov. 4: 19)... "the people that walked in darkness shall see a great light" (Isa 9: 2; Matthew 4: 16)... "who hath delivered us from the power of darkness" (Col. 1: 13)... "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness" (1. Thess. 5: 5)... "who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" (1. Peter 2: 9)... etc.

On mielenkiintoista todeta, että sana pimeys esiintyy jo Raamatun toisessa jakeessa (1. Moos.

It's very interesting to see that the word darkness already exists in the second verse of the Bible (Gen. 1: 2). "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep..."
In this verse the Hebrew word חשך (choshek) is also without the define article, so you could just write: "... and Darkness was upon the face of the deep." In addition to that there was no light shining on the black Earth covered with the waters, there was the personal Darkness upon the face of the deep.

The fact that darkness covered the Earth before the first creation day makes me think that Lucifer's rebellion, his Fall and his expulsion from heaven had already happened before the creation of the Earth. The Hebrew word חשך (choshek) means both darkness and destruction. Thus the seed of destruction did exist even before the creation of the Earth. But on the last Judgment Day we'll get a perfect reply also to this question from the Light/God itself.

It's strange that even though Jesus came to bring the light into the world, it's still in darkness. Even "the day of the Lord" in the end is called "a day of darkness and of gloominess" (Joel 2: 2; Amos 5: 18; Zeph. 1: 15). The world will not be enlightened, because "men loved darkness more than light" (John 3: 19).

"Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it" (Amos 5: 20)! The Light is brightened only when Evil/Darkness totally leaves the stage!
