Sekä Matteus että Luukas ovat tallentaneet Jeeshuan sanat koskien ihmiskunnan viimeisiä tapahtumia ja maailman loppua. Both Matthew and Luke have recorded Jeshua's words regarding the last events of mankind and the end of the world. The sermon of Jeshua originated when the disciples admired the handsome buildings in the temple area of Jerusalem as they came out of the temple, and Jeshua prophesied that complete destruction would befall them.
Ehdittyään temppelivuorelta Öljymäen hiljaisuuteen järkyttyneet opetuslapset tulivat Jeeshuan luo kysymään lisää: "Sano meille, milloin se tapahtuu. Mikä on merkkinä sinun tulostasi ja tämän maailman lopusta?" (Luuk. 21: 7).
After reaching the silence of the Mount of Olives the shocked disciples came to Jesus to ask more, "Master, but when shall these things be?and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?" (Luke 21: 7).
Jeeshuan vastaus koski sekä vuonna 70 jKr. tapahtunutta Jerusalemin hävitystä että Hänen paluutaan ja tämän maailman loppua, sillä edellinen on esikuva jälkimmäisestä:
"Silloin on oleva suuri ahdistus, jonka kaltaista ei ole ollut maailman alusta hamaan tähän asti eikä milloinkaan tule. Ja ellei niitä päiviä olisi lyhennetty, ei mikään liha pelastuisi; mutta valittujen tähden ne päivät lyhennetään" (Matt. 24: 21, 22).

Jeshua's answer concerned both the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. and His return and the end of this world, for the former is an example of the latter:
"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24: 21, 22)
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring. Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." (Luke 21: 25, 26)
Jeeshuan sanoista voimme päätellä, että Jerusalemin hävitys ylitti vedenpaisumuksenkin kauheudessaan. Se on mahdollista, koska vedenpaisumus meni nopeasti ohi siltä suurelta joukolta, joka kuoli, mutta temppelin ja koko Jerusalemin tuho säilyi pitkään monien ihmisten muistoissa.
From the words of Jeshua, we can conclude that the destruction of Jerusalem surpassed even the flood in its horror. It is possible because as the flood quickly passed from the great multitude that died, but the destruction of the temple and the whole of Jerusalem remained for a long time in the memories of many people.
Vanhan maailman kokemat kauhut ovat menneet, eikä kukaan ole kuvailemassa niitä meille, jotka elämme maailman lopussa ja odotamme Jeesuan paluuta. Emme osaa kuvitellakaan, millaisia koettelemuksia edessämme tulee olemaan.
The horrors experienced by the Old World are gone, and no one is describing them to us who live at the end of the world and await the return of Jesus. We cannot even imagine the kind of trials we will face.
Mutta jos uskomme rakastavaan Isään Jumalaan ja elämämme on kätketty Jumalan Pojassa, Jeeshuassa, meillä ei ole minkäänlaista aihetta huoleen. Jeeshua rohkaisi jo Öljymäellä pelästyneitä ja ahdistuneita opetuslapsiaan: "Mutta kun nämä alkavat tapahtua, niin rohkaiskaa itsenne ja nostakaa päänne, sillä teidän vapautuksenne on lähellä" (Luuk. 21: 28).
But if we believe in God, the loving Father, and our lives are hidden in Jeshua, the Son of God, we have nothing to worry about. Jeshua already encouraged even on the Mount of Olives his disciples who were frightened and anxious: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21: 28)
Koska pelko, huoli ja murhe lisääntyvät jatkuvasti ympärillämme ja se voi hyvin helposti tarttua meihinkin, lienee syytä kerätä rohkaisevia voimasanoja Raamatusta:
💜 Pelon voi karkoittaa omilla valinnoillaan, niin kuin Saaran lapset/tyttäret tekevät, kuten Pietari sanoi: "kun teette sitä, mikä hyvää on, ettekä anna minkään itseänne peljättää." (1. Piet. 3: 6)
💜 Pieni ihminen ei voi omalla tahdollaan tai omilla valinnoillaan vaikuttaa kuitenkaan yhtään mitään maailman tapahtumiin; emme voi estää sotia, nälänhätää, terrorismia, luonnonkatastrofeja, ilmastopakolaisuutta, salaseurojen toimintaa ja niiden vääjäämätöntä vaikutusta maailman tapahtumiin, Saatanan ja hänen joukkojensa hirmuvaltaa jne., mutta voisimmeko olla paremmassa asemassa kuin opettajamme, Jeeshua! "Älkää peljätkö niitä, jotka tappavat ruumiin, mutta eivät voi tappaa sielua; vaan ennemmin peljätkää häntä, joka voi sekä sielun että ruumiin hukuttaa helvettiin." (Matt. 10: 28)
💜 Paavali vakuuttaa: "sillä elämä on minulle Kristus, ja kuolema on voitto" (Fil. 1: 21). Mitä peljättävää voisi siis enää jäädä jäljelle, kun kuolemakin on voitto? Ylistys Jumalalle, joka on voittamaton ja kunnia Isälle, joka on ikuinen "elämän lähde", Ehjee!
💜 Hän, joka kuoli ja virkosi elämään, ensimmäinen ja viimeinen, Jeeshua Jumalan Poika, rohkaiskoon meitä Smyrnan seurakunnalle osoittamilla sanoillaan: "Älä pelkää sitä, mitä tulet kärsimään." Vaikka vastassamme olisi itse Perkeleen joukot, vankeus tai mikä tahansa ahdistus, Hän sanoo: "Ole uskollinen kuolemaan asti, niin minä annan sinulle elämän kruunun." (Ilm. 2: 10)
💜 Lähtiessään Isän kotiin valmistamaan omilleen ikuisia sijoja Jeeshua sanoi: "Älköön teidän sydämenne olko murheellinen. Uskokaan Jumalaan, ja uskokaa minuun" (Joh. 14: 1). Avatkaamme siis hengen silmät ja nähkäämme, miten valtavat voimat meidän tukenamme on; voimat, jotka ovat voittaneet kuoleman valan! Kun käsitämme taivaallisten voimien valtavuuden, ymmärrämme ja myös koemme todeksi Jeeshuan meille jättämän rauhan. "Rauhan minä jätän teille: minun rauhani - sen minä annan teille. En minä anna teille, niinkuin maailma antaa. Älköön teidän sydämenne olko murheellinen älköönkä peljätkö." (Joh. 14: 27)
💜 Voimme siis turvallisin ja luottavaisin mielin laulaa Daavidin tavoin: "Jumalaan minä luotan ja ylistän hänen sanaansa. Jumalaan minä turvaan enkä pelkää. Mitä liha minulle tekisi? Jumalaan minä luotan ja ylistän hänen sanaansa, Herraan minä luotan ja ylistän hänen sanaansa. Jumalaan minä turvaan enkä pelkää. Mitä ihminen minulle tekisi?" (Ps. 56: 5, 11, 12)
💜 Saamme omistaa omalle kohdallemme myös Mooseksen sanat, jotka hän lausui Israelin kansalle asettaessaan Joosuan seuraajakseen ja luopuessaan johtajan sauvasta vähän ennen kuolemaansa: "Olkaa lujat ja rohkeat, älkää peljätkö älkääkä säikähtykä heitä, sillä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, käy sinun kanssasi; hän ei jätä eikä hylkää sinua." (5. Moos. 31: 6)
💜 Jumala ei jättänyt Joosuaa pelkästään Mooseksen rohkaisun varaan, vaan Hän antoi Joosualle kaksi eri kertaa omakohtaisen vakuutuksen läsnäolostaan ja avustaan:
"Ei kukaan kestä sinun edessäsi kaikkena elinaikanasi. Niinkuin minä olin Mooseksen kanssa, niin MINÄOLEN (EHJEE) sinunkin kanssasi; minä en jätä sinua enkä hylkää sinua." (Joos. 1: 5)
Ennen Jordanin ylitystä Jumala vakuutti vielä kerran Joosualle: "Tästä päivästä alkaen minä teen sinut suureksi koko Israelin silmissä, jotta he tietäisivät, että niinkuin minä olin Mooseksen kanssa, niin MINÄOLEN (EHJEE) sinunkin kanssasi." (Joos. 3: 7)
Älkäämme siis epäilkö ikuisen elämän lähteen, EHJEEn, vakuuttavia sanoja!
💜 Fear can be banished by your own choices like Sarah's children/daughters do, as Peter said: "whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement." (1. Peter 5: 6)
💜 However, a small person cannot, by his own will or his own choices, influence anything in the world at all; we cannot prevent wars, famines, terrorism, natural disasters, climate refugees, the activities of secret societies and their inevitable impact on world events, the terror of Satan and his forces, etc., but could we be in a better position than our teacher, Jesus! "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matt. 10:28)
💜 Paul affirms, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Phil. 1:21). So what more could be left when death is victory? Praise be to God, who is invincible, and honor to the Father, who is the eternal "source of life," Ehyeh!
💜 He who died and resurrected to life, the first and last, Jeshua, the Son of God, encourage us with His words to the church of Smyrna: "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer. " Even if we are faced with the forces of the Devil himself, imprisonment, or any anguish, He says, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life." (Rev. 2:10)
💜 When he left for the Father's house to prepare eternal places for his own, Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me" (John 14: 1). So let us open our eyes and see how enormous the forces are in our support; forces that have won the oath of death! When we realize the enormity of the heavenly powers, we understand and also experience the peace that Jeshua left us. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27)
💜 So we can sing with confidence like David: "In God I will praise his word. In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me? In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me?" (Ps. 56: 4, 10, 11)
💜 We may also dedicate to us the words of Moses, which he uttered to the people of Israel when he made Joshua his successor and forsook the rod of the leader shortly before his death: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. " (Deuteronomy 31: 6)
💜 Jumala ei jättänyt Joosuaa pelkästään Mooseksen rohkaisun varaan, vaan Hän antoi Joosualle kaksi eri kertaa omakohtaisen vakuutuksen läsnäolostaan ja avustaan:
💜 God did not leave Joshua relying of the encouragement of Moses, but He gave Joshua two individual assurances of His presence and help:
"There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I WILL BE (EHYEH) with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." (Joshua 1: 5)
Before crossing the Jordan, God reassured Joshua once more: "This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I WILL BE (EHYEH) with thee." (Joshua 3: 7)
So let us not doubt the convincing words of the source of eternal life, EHYEH!
