Miikael nousee * Michael is rising

Dan. 12. luvun 1. jakeessa on ennustus kaikkien aikojen pahimmasta ahdistuksen ajasta. Kuitenkin aivan jakeen alussa todetaan, että korkea enkeliruhtinas (השר הגדול = ha-sar ha-gadol) eli arkkienkeli Miikael, nousee/astuu esiin (יעמד = j'amad) ja seisoo Jumalan kansan suojana (העמד על בני עמך = ha-omed al beni ammeka).

Dan. 12: 1 has a prophecy of the worst time of all ages. However, at the very beginning of the verse it is stated, that a high angel (השר הגדול = ha-sar ha-gadol) or Archangel Michael, rises/stands up (יעמד = j'mad) and stands for the people of God (העמד על בני עמך = ha-omed al beni ammeka).

Sekä "nousta/astua esiin" että "seistä" pohjautuvat samaan heprean sanaan עמד (amad), joka tarkoittaa "paikkaa", "paikalleen asettumista", "seisomaan nousemista". Kyseinen sana esiintyy myös Dan. 8: 17 ja 10: 11.

Both "rise" and "stand up/for" are based on the same Hebrew word עמד (amad), which means "place", "settle in", "stand up". This word is also used in Dan. 8: 17 and 10: 11.

Nimi "Miikael" (מיכאל) merkitsee kuka/joka - kuin - Jumala (אל - כ - מי). Miikaelin tehtävä on johtaa lankeamattomia enkeleitä. Tuo tehtävä ei olekaan ihan vähäpätöinen, sillä Ilm. 5: 11:n mukaan tuon joukon vahvuus on "kymmenentuhatta kertaa kymmenentuhatta ja tuhat kertaa tuhat" eli 101 000 000 000 000.

The name "Michael" (מיכאל) means who - like - God (אל - כ - מי). Michael's job is to lead the incorruptible angels. That task is not insignificant, for according to Rev. 5: 11 the strength of that army is "ten thousand times ten thousand and thousand times thousand" or 101 000 000 000 000.

Eräissä uskontokunnissa tulkitaan Miikaelin tarkoittavan Jeesusta. Kuitenkaan missään Raamatun tekstissä ei vahvisteta tällaista olettamusta. 
Ensiksikin olisihan Jumala ollut varsin epäoikeudenmukainen, jos Hän olisi antanut luomisvoimanaan käyttämänsä Sanan (Ps. 33: 9; Joh. 1: 1- 3) ratkaista enkeleiden keskuudessa syttyneen kapinan ja sodan. Jumalan oikeudenmukaisuuden, tasapuolisuuden ja Hänen vapaaehtoisuuteen pohjautuvan hallintonsa tuntien ajattelen, että sota taivaassa oli kahden eri tavoin ajattelevien enkelijoukkojen keskinäinen yhteenotto, ja kumpaakin joukkoa johti enkeli.
Toiseksi Hepr. 1: 5:n mukaan on mahdotonta, että Jumalan Poika olisi enkeli, tai että enkelistä olisi tullut Jumalan Poika.

In some religion Michael is interpreted to mean Jesus. However, no text in the Bible confirms such an assumption. 
First, God would have been quite unjust if He had given the Word as His power of creation (Ps. 33: 9; John 1: 1 - 3) to solve the anger and the war that had arisen among the angels. Knowing God's righteousness, equity and his government based on voluntary, I think the war in heaven was a confrontation between two groups of differently minded angels, and both groups were led by an angel. 
Second, according to Hebrews 1: 5 it's impossible for the Son of God to be an angel or for an angel to become the Son of God. 

Kaksi johtavaa enkeliä, Miikael ja Lucifer, kävivät ensimmäisen taistelun, ja Miikaelin johtama joukko voitti. Perkeleen joukko karkoitettiin taivaasta ja syöstiin Maan päälle (Ilm. 12: 7 - 9). Maa oli tuolloin ennen Jumalan suorittamaa taivaan ja Maan luomista pimeä, veden peittämä pallo.

The two leading angels, Michael and Lucifer, fought the first battle, and the group led by Michael won. The group of Devil was expelled from heaven and knocked down on Earth (Rev. 12: 7 - 9). At that time, before God made heaven and Earth, the Earth was a dark, water-covered ball.

Taistelu enkelijoukkojen välillä johtui kapinallisten enkeleiden halusta määrätä omat asiansa ja valita elämänsä suunnan ottamatta huomioon Jumalan tahtoa. Luciferin kapina oli kohdistettu Jumalan lisäksi myös kaikkiin Jumalalle uskollisiin enkeleihin. Kapinan on täytynyt olla järkyttävä kokemus koko taivaassa! Taistelun jälkeen kolmannes enkeleistä oli poissa, ja se huomattiin varmasti outona tyhjyytenä.

The battle between the angels was due to the desire of the rebellious angels to control their own affairs and choose the direction of their lives without regard to God's will. Lucifer's rebellion was directed not only at God but all angels who were faithful to God. The rebellion must have been a shocking experience in all heaven! After the battle, one third of the angels were gone, and surely it was noticed as a strange emptiness.

Uskolliset enkelit odottivat Jumalalta joitakin toimenpiteitä tilanteen korjaamiseksi. Eikä heidän tarvinnut odotuksissaan pettyä. Pian Luciferin kapinan jälkeen  Jumala loi taivaan ja Maan. Se oli suuri tapahtuma, jota kaikki Valkeuden enkelit olivat todistamassa. Mutta siellä oli myös pimeyden joukot, sillä pimeys oli syvien vesien yllä (1. Moos. 1: 2).

Faithful angels were waiting for God to take some action to remedy the situation. And they didn't have to disappoint in their expectations. Soon after Lucifer's rebellion, God created Heaven and Earth. It was a great event that all the angels of Light witnessed. But there was also the multitude of darkness, for the darkness was above the deep waters (Gen. 1: 2).

Ensimmäisenä luomispäivänä pimeyden keskellä kaikui Jumalan Sana יהי אור jehi or =  "tulkoon valkeus"(1. Moos. 1: 3). Jumala toimi samoin kuin me ihmisetkin tekisimme aloittaessamme mitä tahansa työtä sytyttämällä ensin valot. Jumala sytytti valot Sanallaan, ja taivaallinen valkeus tuli. Jumala itse on valkeus ja tuli (Ps. 4: 7; 44: 4; 89: 16; Jes. 10; 17; Dan. 2: 22; 1. Joh. 1: 5; Jaak. 1: 17). On varmaa, että myös Miikaelin joukot saapuivat paikalle kuullessaan Jumalan sanat.

In the first day of creation, in the midst of darkness was the word of God יהי אור jehi or = "let there be light" (Gen. 1: 3). God did just as we humans would do in starting any work by first turning on the lights. God lit the light with His Word, and the heavenly light came. God Himself is light and fire (Ps. 4: 6; 44: 3; 89: 15; Dan. 2: 22; 1. John 1: 5; James 1: 17). It's certain that Michael's troops were also present when they heard God's words.

Miikaelin joukkojen ja Saatanan joukkojen läsnäollessa Jumala erotti yön pimeyden päivän valkeudesta osoituksena siitä, että valkeudella ei ole mitään osuutta pimeyden kanssa (2. Kor. 6: 14; Ef. 5: 11; 1. Tess. 5: 5; 1. Piet. 2: 9).

In the presence of Michael's forces and Satan's forces, God separated the darkness of the night from the light of the day as an indication that light has nothing to do with darkness (2. Cor. 6: 14; Eph. 5: 11; 1. Thess. 5: 5; 1. Peter 2: 9).

Koko viikon Jumala valmisteli Maata asuttavaan kuntoon luoden sopivat olosuhteet kasveille, hengittäville eliöille ja olennoille, istuttaen ravintoa tuottavan kasvillisuuden, turvaten energiansaannin auringon valolla ja täyttäen vedet, ilman ja maan ihmeellisellä elämällä. Kaikki tämä tehtiin aivan tiettyä tarkoitusta varten, joka paljastettiin enkeleillekin 6. luomispäivänä, kun Jumala halusi jakaa suunnitelmansa uskollisten enkeleiden kanssa.

During the whole week, God prepared the Earth for a habitable state, creating the right conditions for plants, breathing organisms and beings, planting nutritious trees, bushes and plants, securing the need for energy with sunlight, and filling the waters, air and soil with wonderful living beings. All this was done for a very specific purpose, which was revealed even to the angels on the sixth day of creation, when God wanted to share His plan with faithful angels.

Silloin Jumala lausui Miikaelin johtamille joukoille sanat, jotka ovat herättäneet jälkeenpäin suurta hämmennystä ja spekulaatioita ihmisten keskuudessa. Hän lausui heille "tehkäämme ihminen kaltaiseksemme" (1. Moos. 1: 26). Miikaelin ja hänen enkeleidensä mielenkiinto on kohdistunut alusta saakka ihmisiin ja erityisesti niihin ihmisiin, jotka heidän tavoin haluavat seurata Jumalan tahtoa.

Then God uttered words to the troops led by Michael; words, which have afterwards caused great confusion and speculation among the people. He told them "let us make man in our image" (Gen. 1: 26). The interest of Michael and his angels has been from the beginning on people, and especially on people who want to follow God's will as they do.

Jumala, joka on absoluuttinen hyvyys, ei käytä pienintäkään pakkoa luotujaan kohtaan. Niinpä Hän ei luonut ihmisestä robottia, joka seuraisi automaattisesti Jumalan tahtoa. Sen sijaan Hän teki olennon, joka saa vapaan tahtonsa perusteella valita oman elämänsä suunnan. Miikaelin joukko oli juuri todistanut oman tahdon tien kulkijoiden kapinaa. Mitä uusi olento, ihminen, tulisi tekemään?

God, who is absolute goodness, doesn't use the slightest force on His creatures. So He didn't create a human robot that would automatically follow God's will. Instead, He made a being who is free to choose the direction of his life. Michael's group had just witnessed the revolt of the will-goers. What would the new creature, man, do?

Vaikka vapaus valita sisälsi suuren riskin, Jumala asetti tavoitteekseen Jumalan kaltaisen ihmisen. Kaikki ei tapahtuisi hetkessä, vaan prosessi tulisi olemaan pitkä, ja se kysysi aikaa. Miikaelin joukot seurasivat riemuiten ihmisen luomista, ja he ovat olleet mukana kaikissa ihmiskunnan vaiheissa aivan alusta alkaen.

Although the freedom to choose involved great risks, God set His goal as a man like God. Everything would not happen in a moment, but the process would be a long one and take time. Michael's forces followed with joy the creation of man, and they have been involved in all stages of humanity from the very beginning.

Uuden olennon, ihmisen, kautta maailmaan syntyisi jonakin päivänä Jumalan lupaama "vaimon siemen" (1. Moos. 3: 15), joka voittaisi lopullisesti taivaallisen rauhan rikkoneen Lohikäärmeen. Se voitto tarkoittaisi Luciferin kapinan seurauksena tulleen kuoleman kukistamista. Yksikään enkeli ei voinut suorittaa sellaista tekoa, sillä heidät oli luotu kuolemattomiksi. Kuoleman saattoi voittaa ainoastaan kuolemalla ja nousemalla takaisin elämään.

One day, through the new being, man, God's promised "wife's seed" would be born (Gen. 3: 15), which would eventually overcome the Dragon, who broke the heavenly peace. That victory would mean defeating the death, the consequence of Lucifer's rebellion. No angel could do such an act, for they were created immortal. Death could be defeated by dying and resurrecting.

Niinpä "vaimon siemenestä" tuli Saatanan joukkojen maalitaulu. Heidän tavoitteensa oli tappaa Hänet keinolla millä hyvänsä ja hetkenä minä tahansa. "Vaimon siementä" odotettiin sukupolvi toisensa jälkeen, ja jokainen uusi poikalapsi arvioitiin, olisiko se "Hän" (הוא huu, 1. Moos. 3: 15).

Thus, the "wife's seed" became the target of Satan's troops. Their goal was to kill Him by any means, at any time. The "wife's seed" was waited for generation after generation, and each new male child was judged, could it be "He" (הוא huu, Gen. 3: 15).

Vedenpaisumuksesta pelastui vain 8 ihmistä, mutta se riitti turvaamaan luvatun "siemen".  Nooan arkki oli varmasti saatanallisten joukkojen raivokkaiden hyökkäysten kohteena, mutta se oli myös Miikaelin joukkojen tarkan silmälläpidon ja varjeluksen kohteena. Silloinkin Miikaelin joukot voittivat, sillä he onnistuivat turvaamaan luvatun "siemenen".

Only 8 people were saved from the flood, but it was enough to secure the promised "seed". Noah's arch was certainly the target of fierce attacks by Satanic troops, but it was also the object of careful observation and guarding of Michael's troops. Even then, Michael's troops won, because they succeeded in securing the promised "seed".

Messiaan synnyttyä Beetlehemissä, Saatana yllytti kateellisen ja vallanhaluisen Herodeksen tappamaan kaikki alle kaksivuotiaat poikalapset (Matt. 2: 16 - 18) saadakseen luvatun "siemenen" pois päiviltä heti alkuun. Mutta arkkienkeli Miikaelin joukot olivat valppaina, ja Joosef sai heiltä ohjeet paeta perheensä kanssa Egyptiin (Matt. 2: 13, 14).

After the birth of Messiah in Bethlehem, Satan urged the jealous and power-hungry Herod to kill all under two-year-old male children (Matthew 2: 16 - 18) in order to get the promised "seed" out of the day. But the Archangel Michael's troops were alert, and Joseph was introduced by them to flee to Egypt with his family (Matthew 2: 13, 14).

Saatanallinen raivo kulminoitui Jeshuaan Getsemanessa ja Golgatalla. Miikaelin enkelit  vahvistivat äärimmilleen kiusattua ja rääkättyä "vaimon siementä". Siten Hän jaksoi uskoa loppuun saakka Lähettäjänsä täydelliseen suunnitelmaan ja luottaa Isänsä apuun vaikeimmankin koettelemuksen hetkellä. Miikaelin joukkojen riemuksi ristillä riutuva Jeshua lausui viimeisiksi sanoikseen väkevät uskon sanat "Isä, sinun käsiisi minä annan henkeni" (Luuk. 23: 46).

Satanic rage culminated in Yeshua at Gethsemane and Calvary. Michael's angels gave strength to the utterly harassed and tormented "wife's seed". Thus He was able to fully believe in His Sender's perfect plan and trust on His Father's help even at the time of the most difficult trial. Finally to the delight of Michael's troops the exhausted Yeshua uttered on the cross the mighty words of faith "Father, into thy hands I lay down my spirit" (Luke 23: 46).

Tuo hetki merkitsi suurta tappiota Saatanan joukoille. Vaikka Jeshua saatiin hengiltä, Hänen henkensä ei kuulunutkaan Saatanalle. Jeshuan täydellisen kuuliainen elämä Isän tahdolle takasi Hänelle varman riemuvoiton kuoleman vallasta. Yksikään pimeyden valta koko universumissa ei kyennyt estämään väkevää enkeliä Miikaelin joukoista vierittämästä kiveä pois Jeshuan haudalta. Jumalan Poika astui ulos haudasta (Ps. 2: 7; Ap.t. 13: 33, 34, Room. 1: 4).  Kuoleman valta oli kukistettu! Voi sitä riemua taivaallisten joukkojen keskuudessa!

That moment marked a great defeat for Satan's troops. Althought Yeshua was died, His spirit didn't belong to Satan. Yeshua's perfect obedience to the Father's will guaranteed Him a sure triumph over death. No power of darkness in the entire universe couldn't prevent the mighty angel from Michael's troops to roll the stone away from the tomb of Yeshua. The Son of God stepped out from the grave (Ps. 2: 7; Acts 13: 33, 34; Rom. 1: 4). The power of death had been defeated! What a joy among the heavenly forces!

Se hetki merkitsi 6. luomispäivän päämäärän täyttymystä. Ihminen, Ihmisen Poika, Messias Jeshua (1. Tim. 2: 5), osoittautui Jumalan kaltaiseksi... kuolemattomaksi. Tämän jälkeen kenelle tahansa ihmiselle oli mahdollista Jeshuan ansioihin uskomalla pukeutua "valkeuden varuksiin" (Room. 13: 12) ja elää "valkeuden lapsena" (1. Tess. 5: 5), tulla osalliseksi "elämän ylösnousemuksesta" (Joh. 5: 29) ja Jumalan kaltaisuudesta... kuolemattomuudesta (1. Kor. 15: 51 - 55).

That moment marked the fulfilment of the purpose of the 6th creation day. Man, the Son of Man, the Messiah Yeshua (1. Tim. 2: 5) proved to be God-like... immortal. Thereafter, it was possible for any person, believing in the merits of Yeshua, to dress in "the armour of light" (Rom. 13: 12) and to live as "the children of the day" (1. Thess. 5: 5), to participate to "the resurrection of life" (John 5: 29) and  the likeness of God... immortality (1. Cor. 15: 51 - 55).

Maailman lopussa suuren ahdistuksen ajan koittaessa Miikael tulee ottamaan paikkansa enkelien johtajana ja asettuu puolustamaan Jumalan lapsia. Vanha Käärme tulee olemaan Miikaelin vastustajana jälleen. Saatanan raivo tulee olemaan ennen näkemätöntä, ja hän tulee käymään ympäri kuin "kiljuva jalopeura etsien, kenet saisi niellä" (1. Piet. 5: 8). Mutta vaikka Pimeyden Ruhtinas tulee mobolisoimaan sekä saatanallisen enkelijoukkonsa että jumalattomat ihmiset Jumalan omia vastaan, nämä saavat olla suojassa, sillä Miikael seisoo vartiopaikallaan ja vartioi jokaista Jumalaan turvautuvaa ihmistä taivaallisten biljoonajoukkojensa kanssa.

At the end of the world, in the midst of great tribulation, Michael takes his place as the leader of the angels and sets out to defend the children of God. The Old Serpent will be Michaels' opponent again. Satan's rage will be unprecedented, and he will come round as "a roaring lion seeking whom he may swallow (1. Peter 5: 8). But even though the Price of Darkness will mobilise both his satanic angels and wicked men against God's own, these may be protected, for Michael stands in his guard and guards every God-relying man with his heavenly trillions.

"Valkeuden lapset" saavat luottavaisin mielin turvautua Miikaelin joukkojen apuun ja suojaan, sillä "he kaikki ovat palvelevia henkiä, palvelukseen lähetettyjä niitä varten, jotka saavat autuuden periä" (Hepr. 1: 14).

The "children of light" are confidently seeking the help and protection of Michael's troops, for "all of them are "ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1: 14).
