God's powerful 'creative word' is not limited to the creation of heaven and earth; to all that happened during the creation week. God has created by the power of His word (ברא bara) in all ages up to this day, and He will continue to create until the new heavens and new earth are real. Yeshua said: ”My Father worketh hitherto, and I work” (John 5: 17)

Among the 48 texts of the Old Testament where the verb ברא bara appears, there are a few verses that speak of God's creative power also being related to saving/redeeming humanity, freeing man from the slavery of sin.

David is one of the most central figures in the Old Testament, and he is respected as a man blessed by God. However, his transgression against the principles of God's law is written quite openly in the 11th chapter of the 2nd Book of Samuel, and in the 12th chapter, it is told how God sent the prophet Nathan to rebuke him. David's transgression was serious, but he avoided the death penalty before God because he confessed his sin and did not hide his wrong doings.

Psalm 51 is a penitential psalm written by David. In verse 10, David prays before God: ”Create in me a clean heart O God; and renew me a right spirit within me."

Daavid käyttää rukouksessaan siis Elohimin luoda-verbiä, ברא bara. On pantava merkille, että hän ei käytä verbiä יזר jazar, joka on Jahvistisen luomiskertomuksen luomis/tekemis-verbi.
In his prayer, David uses the verb of Elohim to create, ברא bara. It should be noted that he does not use the verb יזר jazar, which is the creation/making verb of the Yahwistic creation story.

Clean water in Ezekiel's text refers to the Son of God, who is "living water" (John 4: 10). The word with which God CREATES and accomplishes His miracles and the renewal of man is His Son, who became man (John 1: 1 - 3, 14).

Psalm 102 speaks of a nation that has been created anew (עם נברא am nibra), and Psalm 104 sings of how God's spirit creates anew and renews (יבראון jibareu) even the form of the earth.

When the earth gets a renewed form, its inhabitants also get a new spirit, a spirit of peace. Jes. In 57: 19 it is said: בורא נוב שפתים שלום bowre nub sapatayim Shalom = I create on the tongue of the lips, peace.

This fallen humanity has filled the earth with war, unrest, and untold suffering. Only God's creation (בורא bore) can change the situation, when divine peace will finally fill the heavens and the earth.

God's creation will have its final fulfillment when He CREATES new heavens and a new earth: Isa. 65: 17, 18: ”For, behold, I create (בורא) new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that I create (בורא) : for, behold, I create (בורא) Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy."

Johannes got to see that joy and jubilation beforehand, when he wrote: ”And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Rev. 21: 1 - 4)
