Uuden liiton temppeli * Temple of the New Covenant

Jerusalemin kolmannen temppelin rakentamisesta puhutaan nykyään lisääntyvällä innolla, mutta kuinka moni pysähtyy syvemmin ajattelemaan ja kysymään, mistä siinä oikein on kysymys. Kuuluuko Jerusalemin kolmas temppeli alkuunkaan Jumalan suunnitelmiin?

The third temple of Jerusalem is nowadays spoken about with an accelerating enthusiasm, but how many of us stops to think it deeper and ask, what's the matter with it. Does Jerusalem's third temple belong to the plans of God at all?

Jeesuksen kuollessa ristillä temppelin esirippu repesi (Matt. 27: 51; Mark. 15: 38; Luuk. 23: 45), ja kansalta kielletty ja piilossa ollut Kaikkeinpyhin avautui. Siksi meillä on nyt "luja luottamus siihen, että meillä Jeesuksen veren kautta on pääsy kaikkeinpyhimpään, jonka pääsyn hän on vihkinyt meille uudeksi ja eläväksi tieksi, joka käy esiripun, se on hänen lihansa kautta" (Hepr. 10: 19, 20).

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was rent in twain (Matthew 27: 51; Marc 15: 38; Luke 23: 45), and the Most Holy forbidden and hidden from the people was revealed. Therefore we have now "boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh (Hebrew 10: 19, 20).

Vanhan liiton Ilmestysmaja ja sitä seurannut temppeli olivat vain vajavaisia varjokuvia siitä taivaallisesta Temppelistä, joka on Jumalan itsensä rakentama (Hepr. 9: 24). Ilmestysmaja rakennettiin Mooseksen Jumalalta saamien tarkkojen ohjeiden mukaan (2. Moos. 40: 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 32). Sen jokaisen yksityiskohdan samoin kuin pappien asusteiden ja heidän suorittamien toimitusten tarkoituksena oli kuvata audiovisuaalisesti sitä pelastussuunnitelmaa, jonka Jumala oli jo ennen aikojen aamua laatinut ihmiskuntaa varten. Ne kaikki täyttyivät sitten Jeesuksessa.

The Tabernacle of the Old Covenant and the temple after that were only a shady shadow of the heavenly Temple, which is made by God Himself (Hebrew 9: 24). The Tabernacle was build according to the exact instructions Moses got from God (Ex. 40: 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 32). Every single detail of the Tabernacle as well as the cloths of the priests and all their activities had to be an audiovisual message of the rescue plan God had already made before the creation. Every detail was then fulfilled in Jesus.

Ilmestysmajan ja temppelin välittämä viesti on siis ikään kuin profetia Messiaasta kaikille niille, jotka haluavat ymmärtää Jumalan pelastustekoa. Kun Jeesuksen maanpäällinen missio läheni loppuaan, ja kun hän huusi ristillä sanat "se on täytetty" (Joh. 19: 30), vanha temppelijärjestelmä sai loppua. Esiripun repeämistä seurasi koko temppelin tuho vuonna 70 jKr. Esikuvat saivat loppua, ja eläinuhrien aika päättyi, sillä Jumalan Karitsa vuodatti verensä syntien anteeksisaamiseksi (Hepr. 9: 11, 12).

The message on the Tabernacle and Temple is like a prophecy of the Messiah for all those who are wiling to understand God's rescue. When Jesus' earthly missio was about to cease and when He shouted on the cross the words "It is finished" (John 19: 30), the old temple system came to an end. After the veil was rent in twain the whole Temple was destroyed 70 A.D. The symbols came to an end, and the time of the animal sacrifices was finished, for the Lamb of God gave his blood for our sins (Hebrew 9: 11, 12).

Jeesus vertasi Jerusalemin temppeliä omaan kehoonsa ja järkytti kuulijoitaan sanomalla, että hän rakentaisi kolmessa päivässä sen, mitä ihmiset olivat rakentaneet 46 vuotta (Joh. 2: 20, 21). Tällä tavalla Jeesus antoi meille avaimen ymmärtää temppeliin liittyvää Uuden Testamentin hengellistä opetusta.

Jesus compared Jerusalem's Temple to his own body and shook his audience by the words that he would build in three days the same people have been building for 46 years (John 2: 20, 21). In this way Jesus gave us the key to understand the spiritual teaching of the New Testament concerning the Temple.

Let's read some temple texts in the New Testament, and in the Old Testament, too!


1. Kor. 3: 16, 17:
"Ettekö tiedä, että te olette Jumalan temppeli, ja että Jumalan Henki asuu teissä? Jos joku turmelee Jumalan temppelin, on Jumala turmeleva hänet; sillä Jumalan temppeli on pyhä, ja sellaisia te olette."

1. Cor. 3: 16, 17:
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

1. Kor. 6: 19, 20:
"Vai ettekö tiedä, että teidän ruumiinne on Pyhän Hengen temppeli, joka Henki teissä on ja jonka te olette saaneet Jumalalta, ja ettette ole itsenne omat? Sillä te olette kalliisti lunastetut. Kirkastakaa siis Jumala ruumiissanne."

1. Cor. 6: 19, 20:
" What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

Ef. 2: 19 - 22:
"Niin ette siis enää ole vieraita ettekä muukalaisia, vaan te olette pyhien kansalaisia ja Jumalan perhettä, apostolien ja profeettain perustukselle rakennettuja, kulmakivenä itse Kristus Jeesus, jossa koko rakennus liittyy yhteen ja kasvaa pyhäksi temppeliksi Herrassa; ja hänessä tekin yhdessä muitten kanssa rakennutte Jumalan asumukseksi hengessä."

Eph. 2: 19 - 22: 
" Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."

1. Piet. 2: 4 - 9:
"Ja tulkaa hänen tykönsä, elävän kiven tykö, jonka ihmiset tosin ovat hyljänneet, mutta joka Jumalan edessä on valittu, kallis, ja rakentukaa itsekin elävinä kivinä hengelliseksi huoneeksi, pyhäksi papistoksi, uhraamaan hengellisiä uhreja, jotka Jeesuksen Kristuksen kautta ovat Jumalalle mieluisia. Sillä Raamatussa sanotaan: Katso minä lasken Siioniin valitun kiven, kalliin kulmakiven; ja joka häneen uskoo, ei ole häpeään joutuva. Teille siis, jotka uskotte, se on kallis, mutta niille, jotka eivät usko,on se kivi, jonka rakentajat hylkäsivät, tullut kulmakiveksi ja kompastuskiveksi ja loukkauskallioksi. Koska he eivät tottele sanaa, niin he kompastuvat; ja siihen heidät on pantukin. Mutta te olette valittu suku, kuninkaallinen papisto, pyhä heimo, omaisuuskansa, julistaaksenne sen jaloja tekoja, joka on pimeydestä kutsunut teidät ihmeelliseen valkeuteensa."
               Jes. 28: 16: "sentähden näin sanoo Herra, Herra: Katso, minä lasken Siioniin 
               peruskiven, koetellun kiven, kalliin kulmakiven, lujasti perustetun; joka uskoo, se ei 
               pakene."
               Ps. 118: 22: "Se kivi, jonka rakentajat hylkäsivät, on tullut kulmakiveksi."

1. Peter 2: 4, 5, 6:
"To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner. And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."
               Isa. 28: 16: " Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for                   
               a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he            
               that believeth shall not make haste."
               Ps. 118: 22: " The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the 
               corner."

Ilm. 3: 12:
"Joka voittaa, sen minä teen pylvääksi Jumalani temppeliin, eikä hän koskaan enää lähde sieltä ulos, ja minä kirjoitan häneen Jumalani nimen ja Jumalan kaupungin nimen, sen uuden Jerusalemin, joka laskeutuu alas taivaasta Jumalani tyköä, ja oman uuden nimeni."

Rev. 3: 12:
" Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name."

Ilm. 21: 2, 3:
" Ja pyhän kaupungin, uuden Jerusalemin, minä näin laskeutuvan alas taivaasta Jumalan tyköä, valmistettuna kuin morsian, miehellensä kaunistettu. Ja minä kuulin suuren äänen valtaistuimelta sanovan: Katso, Jumalan maja ihmisten keskellä! Ja hän on asuva heidän keskellänsä, ja he ovat hänen kansansa, ja Jumala itse on oleva heidän kanssaan, heidän Jumalansa."

Rev. 21: 2, 3:
" And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of  God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God."

Näiden jakeiden perusteella en näe, että kolmas temppeli kuuluisi Jumalan suunnitelmiin. Jos sellainen sinne kuitenkin rakennetaan, Jumalan Temppelin "elävät kivet" ja "pylväät" tietävät, kuka siinä rakennusprojektissa on asialla ja hylkää "kalliin kulmakiven! Ei kukaan muu, kuin Jumalan Vastustaja!

Based on these verses I can't see that the third Temple belongs to God's plans. But if such a temple is to be built there, the "living stones" and "the pillars" of God's Temple do know, who is rejecting "the precious corner stone" in his project! No-one else but God's Opponent!
