Heprean kielen monikollinen Jumalaa merkitsevä sana אלהים ELOHIM synnyttää monenlaista keskustelua ja kiivastakin kiistelyä siitä, pitäisikö se kääntää sanalla ”Jumala” vai ”Jumalat”, ja jos asetutaan jälkimmäisen vaihtoehdon kannalle, niin kuinka monta Jumalaa tuohon sanaan sisältyy.
Heprean duaalimuoto liittyy aina pelkästään kahteen tekijään, ja monikkomuotoa käytetään silloin, kun tekijöitä on kolmesta äärettömään määrä.
Minulle sana ELOHIM merkitsee sellaista suuruutta, jota ei voi inhimillisillä sanoilla selittää eikä ihmiskielellä kuvata. Siksi olen päätynyt ajattelemaan Elohim-sanan paikalle suomalaisen sanan ”VALTAVA”... ”VALTAVA JUMALUUS".
Koska Jeshua itse on PARAKLETOS (Joh. 14: 16, 26; 15: 26; 16: 7; 1. Joh. 2: 1), niin kuin sulkeissa luetellut tekstit antavat kreikaksi tutkittaessa ymmärtää, JESHUA, POIKA on todellinen vierellämme kulkeva PUOLUSTAJA, totuuden Henki, Pyhä Henki, joka on kanssamme joka päivä maailman loppuun asti. Jeshualla on monta nimeä monen tehtävänsä mukaan (Jumalan Sana, Valkeus, Totuus, Luoja, Lunastaja, Jumalan Karitsa jne.)
Koko jumalallinen pelastaussuunnitelma on niin laaja ja valtava missio, että siihen liittyy kymmenittäin erilaisia tehtäviä ja nimityksiä sekä Isälle että Pojalle. Onko siis ihme, että JUMALUUS on monikollinen ELOHIM!
The plural form of the Hebrew word for God, אלהים ELOHIM, gives rise to many discussions and even heated arguments about whether it should be translated as “God” or “Gods”, and if we take the latter option, then how many Gods are included in that word.
The dual form in Hebrew always relates to only two factors, and the plural form is used when there are three to an infinite number of factors.
For me, the word ELOHIM means a greatness that cannot be explained or described in human words. That is why I have ended up thinking of the Finnish word “VALTAVA” (enormous in English) instead of the word Elohim... “VALTAVA JUMALUUS” (enormous deity).
Since Yeshua Himself is the PARACLETOS (John 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7; 1 John 2:1), as the texts listed in parentheses suggest when studied in Greek, YESHUA, the SON, is the true ADVOCATE walking beside us, the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, who is with us every day until the end of the world. Yeshua has many names according to His many functions (Word of God, Light, Truth, Creator, Redeemer, Lamb of God, etc.)
The entire divine plan of salvation is such a vast and immense mission that it involves dozens of different functions and titles for both the Father and the Son. Is it any wonder, then, that the GODHEAD is the plural ELOHIM!
