Pari vuotta sitten opettelin ulkoa Isä meidän -rukouksen hepreaksi. Palauttaessani heprean sanoja mieleeni tällä viikolla huomioni kiinnittyi yhteen pieneen sanaan, joka esiintyy tuossa rukouksessa kaksi kertaa. Kysymyksessä on konjunktio כאשר ka-asher, joka on käännetty suomeksi ” niin kuin”.
Konjunktio ”niin kuin” on kuitenkin hepreaksi aivan erilainen sana. Sitä vastaa jopa kaksi erilaista sanaa: כמו kemo ja כפי kefi. Sen sijaan konjunktio כאשר ka-asher merkitsee ensisijaisesti ”kun”. Tämä pieni sana, כאשר ka-asher, antoi Isä meidän -rukoukseen uuden vivahteen.
KUN Isän tahto tapahtuu taivaassa, jossa Hän itse on, Hänen tahtonsa tulisi tapahtua myös Maassa, joka on valovuosien päässä universumissa. Isän tahdon toteutumisen pitäisi olla itsestäänselvää kaikkialla!
Mutta Luciferin kapina ja ihmisen syntiinlankeemus ovat muuttaneet Isän alkuperäisen asetuksen. Siksi rukouksen ydinkohta on: ”tulkoon sinun valtakuntasi”... tulkoon sinun valtakuntasi myös tänne Maan päälle.
KUN Isä antaa anteeksi meidän syntimme/velkamme, meidän velvollisuutemme on tehdä samoin omille velallisillemme. Juuti tästä anteeksiannon järjestyksestä Jeshua opetti vertauksessa "armottomasta palvelijasta” (Matt. 18: 21 - 35). Meidän anteeksiantamisemme ei ole malli eikä mitta Isän anteeksiantamiselle, vaan päinvastoin.
Suomalaiset käännökset ”anna meille velkamme anteeksi, niin kuin mekin annamme anteeksi..." (Matt. 6: 12) ja ”anna meille syntimme anteeksi, sillä mekin annamme anteeksi...” (Luuk. 11: 4) asettavat ihmisen tekemisen Isän mittaamattoman rakkauden ja armon edelle ja malliksi Isän armahtamisen määrälle.
On syytä muistaa, että Isä on ensin rakastanut meitä (1. Joh. 4: 7 - 21).
A couple of years ago, I memorised the Lord’s Prayer in Hebrew. As I was recalling the Hebrew words this week, my attention was drawn to one little word that appears twice in that prayer. It is the conjunction כאשר ka-asher, which is translated into Finnish as “niin kuin”... in English ”as."
However, the conjunction “niin kuin” (”as”) is a completely different word in Hebrew. It even has two different words: כאשר kemo and כפי kefi. Instead, the conjunction כאשר ka-asher primarily means “when.” This little word, כאשר ka-asher, gave the Lord’s Prayer a new nuance.
WHEN the Father’s will is done in heaven, where He Himself is, His will should also be done on Earth, which is light years away in the universe. The fulfillment of the Father’s will should be self-evident everywhere!
But Lucifer’s rebellion and the fall of man have changed the Father’s original decree. Therefore, the core of the prayer is: “Thy kingdom come”... thy kingdom come here on Earth as well.
WHEN the Father forgives our sins/debts, it is our duty to do the same for our own debtors. Yeshua taught about this order of forgiveness in the parable of the “unmerciful servant” (Matt. 18:21-35). Our forgiveness is not a model or measure of the Father’s forgiveness, but the opposite.
The Finnish translations “forgive us our debts, as we forgive…” (Matt. 6:12) and “forgive us our sins, for we also forgive…” (Luke 11:4) place human actions before the Father’s immeasurable love and mercy and as a model for the extent of the Father’s mercy.
It is worth remembering that the Father has first loved us (1 John 4:7-21).
